My mortar and pestle is a bit on the small size, but occasionally it is just the right size.

When your grandchildren grow you need something better than just a pencil mark inside a cupboard or on a wall.

The crocodile in the children's crèche area has seen some enthusiastic use over the past 7 years, and I have fixed it before, but this time I had to take three of the panels to my workshop to replace strings, a magnet, two new beaters and a new axle for one of the cogs. Little children may be small but their grip is huge and they have not yet learned to modulate their strength so stuff does wear out,

Magician with wood, not Gandalf but Tim Stead, a lot nicer, and certainly less scary. Tynron village hall, 12th April, make a most memorable night of it.

Three items repaired for Dumfries Baptist Church Children's Play Area. The police car roof had broken in two (the original wood grain orientation was the wrong way) the caterpillar cake had lost a leg and the chicken drumstick's bone had split, all were replaced by local Elm which is resistant to splitting.

Nativity stable for knitted figures. There are 4 LED. strip lights in the ceiling and the bulk of the timber comes from recycled pews from St.George's Church Dumfries. It is simple enough but each board in the roof had to be individually fitted and twisted to fit.

I was called back to do a repair job on a signpost I modified for a customer. The original job took me 9 months to get round to, Given that the signpost is for an annual conference it was not such a big deal, however the sign post was erected and they broke a part of it. I picked it up, took it home, removed the broken piece, cut and inserted a new piece, glued and repainted the whole section. All done in 2 1/2 hours, thanks to quick setting resin glue and water based paint. A minor adjustment ( shaving off less than 1mm from the edge of one finger post) was done with a super sharp little felling axe I had in the car !
