r 1 week with no booking fee, after this time the date becomes available to other customers. The date is only secured when a booking fee is received. Please note that the price quoted is valid for 1 month. If a booking fee is not paid within 1 month, my prices are subject to change. All booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any potential loss in business as a result of declining other bookings on the same date. Late or Non Payments

Late or non-payments could result in loss of your booking date. In the event of a late or non-payment, the order will not proceed until any additional fees have been agreed and payment has been made in full. In these circumstances, subsequent completion of the order on the required date will not be guaranteed and becomes subject to availability. Final Payments

Weddings & Large orders
The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior, unless discussed otherwise. A reminder of the final amount will be sent to you no less than 7 days before payment is due. Failure to make payment of the remaining balance may result in your order being cancelled and your date being made available to someone else. Cakes and small orders
The final balance is due 3 days prior to collection/delivery by bank transfer or cash. Unfortunately I cannot allow the cake to be removed from the premises until full payment has been received. Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing. Verbal phone cancellations will not be binding. Wedding Cakes:
8 weeks or more - Refund of any payments made, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
2 - 8 weeks - 75% of the total cost will be retained. Less than 2 weeks until the event - 100% of the total cost will be retained/ payable. Other Orders:
2 weeks or more - Refund of any payments made, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
1 to 2 weeks - 50% of any payments made will be retained. Less than 1 week until delivery/collection date - 100% of the total payments will be retained. If you cancel your cake order after requesting a change of date no refunds will be made to you under any circumstances. Due to the food hygiene risks, I reserve the right to cancel your order at short notice if there is an issue of illness with myself or in my household. All booking fees and monies paid will be refunded, but no compensation will be payable to you. Cake Information


My sponge cakes are a generous four inches deep (approx) and contain two layers of cake and one layer of filling. They are then coated in buttercream before being iced in a thin layer of sugar paste and agreed decoration (unless you have opted for a buttercream only design). Chosen flavours are detailed on your order form

Cakes by Gayle is NOT an allergy-free kitchen. All my products may contain, or contain traces of, milk, wheat, nuts, soya, and other allergens. It is your responsibility to ensure all recipients are aware of this information. I cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions to these ingredients. Please note that some of my cakes may contain alcohol in the form of vanilla extract and glazing. Allergy information will be provided with all orders. Cakes will sometimes contain in-edible items. These items must be removed before serving and they will be noted on the cake information sheet which will be provided along with your cake or highlighted to you upon the cake collection. Design Alternative & Change

It is your responsibility to read & check the quote thoroughly; any amendments should be made in writing. If requested, I will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible due to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn me before paying your booking fee if you are undecided on the design as payment is acceptance of the details on the order form and will become non-refundable. I reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond my control may compromise the quality of the finished cake, eg. Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur from the picture supplied. I recommend extreme caution if you are considering a cake decorated with buttercream or chocolate for a summer wedding (May-September). I cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left my possession, as I have no control over the environmental/venue temperature. I can however advise you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and do everything within my control to reduce the impact on the cake. Delivery & Set Up

Cakes/cupcakes should be inspected on receipt to ensure that they were not damaged in transit, as you (or any other third party taking delivery, e.g. hotel/wedding planner etc.) shall be solely responsible for any damage to any products which occurs (i) after the delivery or collection of any product and/or (ii) as a result of failure to follow instructions/advice I may give in respect or storage or setting up or of further transportation of the cake. Collections & Transportation

You agree to the collection time detailed on your order form. Please do not arrive earlier than the time agreed, unless I have confirmed the order is ready and I am available. If you do not arrive within 30 minutes from the agreed time, I may not be available to hand your order over and a new collection time will have to be arranged based on my availability. Should you wish to change the collection date/time I will do my best to accommodate this request but cannot guarantee availability. Failure to collect your order will still result in full payment. Cakes/cupcakes should be inspected on collection to ensure they meet your expectations. Please note, once you have removed your cake from my kitchen all responsibility for the cake/cupcakes are passed to you and I cannot be responsible for any damages in transit or dropped cakes etc. You should ensure your vehicle has a flat surface available and is clean and tidy before collection, an empty boot with a non-slip mat is advisable. I do everything in my control to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes can be extremely fragile so you must drive carefully. Storage Conditions

All cakes cupcakes should be placed on a flat surface and stored at room temperature in the box provided. They should be kept out of direct sunlight. Freezing or refrigerating the cakes/cupcakes is not recommended as this can cause damage to the sugar paste detailing. Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of delivery/collection so I therefore strongly recommend ordering for the date of your event, or the evening before if needed. My cakes are made of natural ingredients, so they will not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes, which contain additives and preservatives to ensure their prolonged life. Complaints

If you have any concerns about the decoration of your cake, please notify me upon collection/ delivery so that I have the opportunity to rectify this in time for your event. All other concerns should be made in writing within 24 hours and evidence of the fault should be included. A refund is only considered if the cake/cupcakes are returned uneaten and are deemed unsuitable for consumption or are not as described on the order form. No refund will be given due to change of mind. Any refunds will be given entirely at my discretion. Photos

I take photos of all my cakes and products, these are my images and I reserve the right to use these images on websites/social media sites without your prior consent. However, I will not post any photos of my cakes or cupcakes which include images of your family members/ friends without requesting your permission beforehand. Data Protection

When placing an order your personal details such as name, mobile number, email address and details regarding your cake order will be stored but only for use by Cakes by Gayle. They will not be distributed to a third party.
