Made with honey and beeswax, these luxurious soaps are packed with natural goodness to gently cleanse while helping to leave your skin feeling soft, nourished and cared for.

Unlike many commercial soaps that rely on synthetic hardeners and detergents, these bars are made with beeswax, a natural ingredient that helps create a long lasting bar while locking in moisture and leaving your skin feeling beautifully conditioned. Honey is also known for helping the skin retain its natural moisture, leaving it feeling soft and cared for after every wash.

Meet the bees behind the honey!

The wonderful guys from Lagness Farms Honey will be on site with their Show Hive, giving you a first person view of the amazing little bees that keep the honey and other products coming!

Meet the Queen and see the crew behind the golden nectar we sell here at The Farm Shop.

Some of our other producers will be on site showcasing their own goods as well! Why not pop in, pay us a visit and then take a stroll around the farm to meet all our other amazing animals, see where most of our fresh veg and fruit comes from and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere on site!

Making hay while the sun shines and honey while the bees fly.

The alarm went off early and we were in the bee yard by 0500hrs to beat the heat. The colonies are bringing in plenty of nectar and the honey crop is building fast, with some hives now carrying six supers.

By the time the bee work was wrapped up, the dew had lifted and it was time to switch gears and get on with baling this year’s hay!

First go at grafting our own queens and I’m buzzing with the result…8 out of 10 grafts accepted 👑🐝

For anyone wondering, grafting is where we carefully transfer tiny larvae from one of our best colonies into special queen cups so the bees can raise them as new queens. We do it so we can breed from colonies that show the traits we want to keep strong temperaments, good honey production, healthy brood patterns and bees that overwinter well.

It’s a pretty delicate job and seeing the bees take to 8 out of the 10 grafts feels like a massive win for our first attempt.

Next steps are letting the queen cells develop, moving them into nucs at the right time and then hopefully getting some well mated queens laying strongly over the coming weeks. Plenty can still happen from here, but it’s a really exciting stage in the process.
