A little Sunday reflection from Wise Decor 👇

As Wise Decor has grown, we have realised that we cannot keep moving forward simply by working harder and expecting the same systems to keep up.

We also recognise that some parts of the customer journey can take longer than we would like, particularly receiving quotes, confirming dates and keeping communication moving.

Over the next 12 weeks, we are investing a significant amount of time and effort into improving the systems and processes behind the business.

This will mean faster quotations, more efficient scheduling, clearer communication and a smoother, more consistent experience from the first enquiry through to completion.

We want the service surrounding our work to be every bit as strong as the finished result, while still keeping the personal approach that Wise Decor has been built on.

We are genuinely excited about the improvements ahead and where they will take Wise Decor over the coming months! 🎨

Saturday question 🎨

When you are choosing a colour for a room, do you normally play it safe or go for something completely different?

One of the biggest mistakes we see is choosing from a tiny colour card and expecting it to look exactly the same across the full room.

Natural light, artificial lighting and even the direction the room faces can completely change how a colour looks.

Our advice is always to test a sample on more than one wall and look at it throughout the day before deciding. 😎

Just dont leave it heavy on the wall!! 😂

A busy and varied week for the Wise Decor team 👌

We’ve been at Fettes carrying out several maintenance jobs, including taping, filling and dealing with the usual wear and tear that their properties pick up over time.

Connor has been working across a kitchen, sitting room and living room. We ran into a few unexpected problems when the walls in the living room turned out to be in considerably worse condition than originally thought. The extra preparation will get them into the proper condition for the finish paper to be applied.

Callum has been transforming the inside of a conservatory, with a delighted customer at the end of it.

Ryan has also been working across three cottages for Hopetoun Estate as part of their yearly exterior maintenance programme.

We’ve managed to get another job started in Livingston and finally cleared out our storage container, which was practically a job in itself! 😂

Plenty happening across the team this week.

What a day we had yesterday.

Instead of only having a Christmas night out, I decided to plan a summer day out too!

We started the morning off for a Down the Hatch Breakfast followed by a trip to Larkhall for go Karting then topped off with an early finish 😎

Our apprentice luke beat us all with a laptime of 56 seconds. Which is quick in a rental kart around larkhall!

It's been an extremely busy few months with lots of tight deadlines and I really appreciate the hard work they put in!

Roll on next summer for our day out. What next!? I think paintball 🤣

Wise Decor is growing, and we’re looking for another apprentice to join the team.

If you’re reliable, willing to learn, and not afraid of hard work, we’d love to hear from you.

• Is polite and respectful
• Works well as part of a team
• Wants to build a long term career in the trade

No experience is necessary. The right attitude is far more important. We’ll teach you the skills, but you need to bring the work ethic!

This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced decorators while working on a wide variety of projects across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, all while building a career in a growing company.

It’s been another busy week across Edinburgh and Fife with projects completed and new ones getting underway!

This week we’ve had multiple jobs in South Queensferry, started a repair job for Napier Herbalist, completed three feature walls in an Edinburgh office and got started on a vets practice in Dunfermline that we’ll be getting stuck into next week 😎

A massive thank you to all of our customers and to the team for their hard work.

Here is a cracker we did a while back for our good friends at Napiers Herbalist.

We carried out the works after hours to ensure the shop could trade during the day and what a result we got.

The gold was all hand painted using a premium metallic gilding paint and it looks amazing 🤩
