The utility room is a great example of how good design can make the less glamorous parts of a home feel just as considered as the kitchen.

2 years ago today, we opened the doors at Brightons Cross and what a journey it’s been!

It feels like yesterday, but at the same time, it feels like we’ve been here forever.

We still look back on that opening day with such happy memories — celebrating with our family, friends and customers, both new and old.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, welcomed us into the local community, recommended us, liked and shared our posts, and trusted us with your homes. ❤️

Sometimes, a bathroom upgrade is about much more than creating a beautiful space.

Sometimes, it’s about giving someone their independence back and making everyday life just that little bit easier.

This bathroom was a very special project for us as we upgraded it for our dear aunt, who at 94 is still fiercely independent — and has absolutely no plans to change that! ❤️

The existing bath was no longer suitable, so we redesigned the space to make it more spacious, accessible and comfortable for her to use.

We replaced the bath with a large shower enclosure, featuring:

A sliding shower head for easier access
Plenty of strategically positioned grab rails
A spacious layout for safer, more independent showering
Comfort height toilet
FIBO wet wall panels throughout for an easy-clean finish
LVT flooring
A large sink drawer unit providing plenty of accessible storage

The result isn’t just a bathroom that looks great.

It’s a bathroom that gives her safe, comfortable and independent bathing, while allowing her to continue doing things her own way.

Our client wanted to give her existing kitchen and utility room a complete refresh, while keeping the existing flooring. Rather than changing the layout, we worked with the existing footprint to make the most of the space and bring it back to life.

The finished result combines:

🤍 Matt Cashmere doors for a clean, timeless look
🌳 Wood-effect butcher’s block worktops for warmth and character
✨ Matching splashbacks to tie everything together
🧡 A burnt orange hob splashback adding a beautiful pop of colour and perfectly complementing the existing floor

We love how a few carefully chosen finishes can completely transform a kitchen without the need for a complete change of layout.
