August:
Car seats, beer festival, several workshops with lovely people, making lovely things, annual day out to the fringe, 6 shows, took zero pics, an avalanche of admin, also not pictured, Creative mornings at the hidden garden, leather panel replacement, new ercol mattress and cushion covers, London to see Schaparelli, Japanese lacquer, the design museum, the Oresteia, Titanique, V&A storehouse (it's amazing), swimming, long train journeys and a lot of rain.
September is going to be busy. And I'm opening the studio alongside lots of my neighbours on the 19th of September for Doors open day. Stick it in your diary, there will be lots to see in the east end!

This child's rocking chair was such a joy to reupholster. Stripped it right back and replaced the flat and worn felt padding with some rubberised coir and new felt. Cleaned and refreshed the woodwork and then finished it off with beautiful Linwood Fabric which really livened it up.
And its so small it fit on a shelf out of the way before it was picked up. Ideal!
It's always lovely working on pieces of furniture with sentimental value. This chair has been sat on by at least 3 generations of the same family and will hopefully go on to be used by many more.

Some spots left on some of the workshop days. If you've got a piece of furniture you've been wanting to transform but are unsure where to start then this is the workshop for you. No experience necessary and you will be provided with all the tools to strip and recover your furniture! These are the final dates for a while, hoping to organise more in the Autumn.

This made to match pair looked very different before. The chair is a lovely cintique that has had a long life and was in need of a freshen up. The footstool looked completely different before but my client wanted to change it up and decided on a deep button finish which really transforms it!
Both covered in Warwick Fabrics UK eco splash, these will last for many more decades and have become a cute matching set 💙

Another beautiful transformation from a one to one upholstery workshop. Arla from Arla Kean did a couple of one to one days with me where she completely transformed this tub chair. It had been attacked heavily on one side by cats and was needing a bit of a revamp. We replaced the crumbling foam and she chose these velvets to brighten it up. This one involved lots of tailoring and sewing, and a lot of fit checks before fully attaching the cover. Lots of work but she's done an amazing job!
If you want to try your hand at upholstery and have a project you would like help with, I'm running small group workshops over the summer. There is still a spot left for this Sunday - DM me for more details or take a look at my website 🙂

My first workshop in the studio was a roaring success! 3 wonderful people with 3 really interesting and different projects! A new cushion for an ercol by Juju Books (with the added bonus of the fabric having been designed by her grandfather!), a glow up for a dining chair by Parallel Prints | Custom T-shirt Screen Printing (who screen printed the fabric herself) and a swivel chair transformation for (it was her Dad's draughtsman chair for many years before!).
All of these transformations happened in the One Day Workshop I'm running. Have you got an upholstery project you've been meaning to get around to but just don't have the space/time/tools to hand? You don't need any experience and all tools will be provided. Limited to a class of 3 so you will get lots of guidance and support!

This is a summery transformation, perfect for a day like today! My clients picked the stunning gallery stripe in Rust to give this family heirloom a new lease of life. The old foam was crumbling into dust so I gave it a full strip down and new foam before it's lovely new cover went on. Cleaned up the legs and refinished them to complete the makeover. Really happy with the results!

Really need to up my photo game, maybe on the next project! This pair of beautiful Parker Knoll chairs have had a lovely bright transformation from dull terracotta to a gorgeous cream and dusty pink stripe. I love how the new colour makes the wood and cane stand out. A fun recover, further cementing my love for Parker Knoll!
