A bespoke orangery designed to transform the way this home connects with its garden. Although the property was spacious, the owners lacked a dedicated space where they could fully enjoy indoor-outdoor living. The result is a light-filled, elegant addition that creates a seamless connection between the home and its surroundings, bringing a greater sense of openness and natural light.

An additional rooflight was also installed above the central stairwell, featuring beautiful intricate detailing that adds character while flooding the space with natural light.

The client’s aim was to create a room that offered all-day functionality throughout the year, with a strong visual connection to the garden. The expansive five-leaf folding doors open the room directly onto the garden, making the space feel connected and alive throughout the seasons.

Even on cooler days, the room offers panoramic views and a sense of tranquillity, reinforcing the orangery’s role as a bridge between home and nature. One of the defining elements of this project is its use of contrasting colours, which add another layer to the design, emphasising the clean architectural lines and giving the space a distinctive, contemporary character.

Completely beyond repair, explore the before and after photos and see how a deteriorated structure can be replicated and replaced.

With sensitivity to its heritage, our team carefully replaced and expanded the structure, thoughtfully replicating the design of the dilapidated pre-existing building, which dates back to at least the mid-to-late 1800s. From the distinctive Victorian-era glazing to the breakfront gable, every detail was recreated to honour its original character. We’re so pleased to see our conservatory play a part in the history of the castle’s 18th-century walled gardens.

Our client’s much-loved home, a Grade II listed former Victorian school house, had a dated conservatory that was ready to be replaced. What makes this structure special is its intricate detailing, with a stunning decorative barge board to the gable adding an extra touch of elegance. The gothic-arched windows and fine corbel pilasters to the columns help to define the character of the new garden room, while the spire finial adds a charming architectural detail.

Set within the rolling hills of the southwest, this remarkable Grade II listed home enjoys breathtaking views across the surrounding valleys. However, its exposed south-facing elevation brings the challenge of strong winds. With the existing conservatory in poor condition, the client wanted a beautifully crafted curved replacement structure that could withstand the demanding conditions of its surroundings.

The addition of this bespoke orangery has created a sophisticated new space that enhances the way the home is enjoyed. Although the property was spacious, the owners lacked a light-filled room where they could fully appreciate the views of their garden.

Featuring three sets of doors with decorative arched detailing, complemented by elegant columns, the design creates a timeless aesthetic. Above, the glazed roof floods the room with natural light, creating an exceptional sense of openness and tranquillity. The owners now have a bright space that effortlessly connects the interior of the home with the outdoors.
