A panelled room...

The house is the oldest in Hascombe and is thought to be have been built around 1528..... this panelling was commissioned to replicate the original in one of their drawing rooms..

Built in the workshop and installed onsite a year ago and the client has only just got around to choosing the colour... Constructed from tulipwood with hardwood raised panels and handpainted.

Solid oak doors with aged brass hinges and solid oak drawers.
Oak has such a warmth too it, especially when you've added a coat of oil...it just seems so timeless.
All built for the cottage project in Peaslake.

A place to wash your hands....

Who likes those boring, small hand basins in their down stairs lavatory..not my client.
Built to fit the small space they had, we managed to accommodate a small Belfast sink and plenty of storage too.
Constructed from Ash for both the face frame and doors with a solid oak top. Butt and bead board finish off the wall behind.

Kitchen details....
Your kitchen should be made of peices of furniture rather than a load of cabinets screwed together. It should be bespoke and handcrafted.

This peice was built as part of the Haslemere kitchen project last year and is based and designed around an old English dresser. Solid Maple door and drawer fronts, European oak drawers with custom made dovetails.
Solid brass hardware finishes the peice off beautifully.

We gather inspiration from all parts of our lives, whether that be from magazines, shop windows or the net. This inspiration then has to be turned into a design and that in turn is turned into reality.
It's an exciting process to take what's buried in the clients mind, getting it drawn up, to then building something...that hopefully lives up to that dream.

This new year will be an exciting one, with a slight change in direction....a new company name, a bigger team and some beautifuly English crafted products.

The Wormley gate project.
After the client had this beautiful curved stone wall built, she asked if we could make her a pair of oak gates to match her stunning oak barn conversion.

Built from solid European oak, mortise and tennon joinery with oak posts installed by the talented . I don't think anything compliments oak, as much as pewter and as always we go to for all the furniture.

We had to build these gates with 3 ground levels to contend with, hence the shape of the bottoms.

All finished off with 4 coats of exterior oil.

The clients approached me after their front gate was nearly completely rotton through.

Back in the workshop we designed and constructed a new handbuilt one from sapele with a solid frame (curved)and tongue and groove detail. Stainless Steel furniture and a bespoke letter box.
Spray finished in blue grey to match the rest of their woodwork on the house.

The photos have finally come back from the Gomshall project. Built in wardrobes, a study unit and some oak garage doors. All handbuilt in the Shere workshop.

All cabinetry sprayed in the workshop and handpainted on site Mylands
