What a wonderful day was had at the Bank Holiday Putting Competition!

The day began in glorious sunshine, with plenty of time for practice before 23 hardy competitors took to the course for three rounds of putting. Joyce and Claire laid on a fantastic finger buffet, which was very definitely enjoyed — there wasn’t much left by the end of the day! 🍰🥪

Four competitors managed the rare feat of a hole in one — congratulations to Dave Roche, Doug Jackson, Denice Lawton and Malcolm Frethey, who very generously donated their winnings to Macmillan Cancer Support. ❤️

There was plenty of good humour, food and drink throughout the afternoon, with everyone making the most of the Library and its outdoor spaces. The rain eventually arrived, but the hardy golfers simply donned their wet weather gear and carried on — finishing their rounds with smiles and spirits still high! 🌧️⛳️

🥈 Runner-up: Doug Jackson — 69
🥉 3rd: Pete West — 70
4th: Brian Jobson — 71 (after a playoff!)
5th: Martin Nathan — 71

A huge thank you to Keith & Joyce who organised the day and supplied the food and drinks. We were delighted to donate all of the prizes, we’re waiting for the gas voucher to be cashed!!!
