Happy Sunday everyone! ☀️
Music, singing and laughter filled the lounge this morning with a brilliant karaoke session that brought voices from residents, staff and visitors 🎤🎶
Everyone could read the lyrics on the big screen and we raised the roof with hits that included Oh Carol, Country Roads and Delilah 🎵🥰
Singing lifts the spirits, allows the memory to shine and creates a lovely bond between participants 😍
Such a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning ❤️

For the anniversary of Picassos birthday, (25/10), residents undertook the difficult challenge of doing some Picasso inspired, abstract drawing of their own 🎨🖼
We chose the face to draw and started by looking at some of Picasso's previous work for inspiration 🤔🎨👨‍🎨
There were some great results and Janice said, "you'd think it would be easy drawing abstract but it's not!"
The next challenge was to draw someone else in the room, Picasso style! This created a lot of laughs, especially when guessing who the portraits were of 😂
Everyone worked really hard and all enjoyed doing something new and a bit different 🥰

Not even the grey skies and continuous rain could dampen the spirits in Oakwood Court this morning, where we were all in the pink to support and raise awareness of Breast Cancer 🎀 🎗👚💗🌸
Staff and residents brightened the dull day in their pink finery, whilst also enjoying some delicious pink cupcakes made by Maria 🧁💗
Some residents got creative making themselves a bracelet or keyring with pink beads, of course 💗
We tried to think of songs to sing with pink or rose in the title or lyrics. Lily the Pink was a favourite as well as Cherry Pink and Apple blossom white 🎵
Everyone's spirits were lifted and we forgot about the weather 🥰

🐰🐔 Pet Pals Visit Oakwood Court! 🐾

Pet Pals came to visit Oakwood Court this afternoon, and this time Becks brought along her lovely chickens and rabbits! 🥰

As always, our residents absolutely loved getting to cuddle and stroke the rabbits on their laps, while watching the chickens happily playing in their pen. ❤️

A wonderful afternoon filled with furry friends, feathered visitors and lots of smiles! 🐇🐓💛
