There’s more to Ayous than meets the eye 🌳

Native to Western and Central Africa, Ayous is naturally light in colour and weight, with a clean appearance that makes it a beautiful timber to work with.

But the really interesting part happens when heat enters the picture. Through thermal modification at temperatures above 200°C, the timber develops a richer, darker colour while becoming more stable. The result is Thermally Modified Ayous, a Class 1 durable timber with low moisture movement and an almost defect-free appearance, making it a great choice for contemporary exterior cladding.
