Transforming a loft conversion into a bespoke natural stone bathroom.

For this project, the client wanted to create a calm, spa-like space, incorporating a walk-in shower, stone flooring and a handmade basin, all within the constraints of a sloping roofline.

The bathroom features Namibian White Marble, with large stone panels measuring approximately 2.2 × 1.6 metres used to clad the shower walls. Using slabs of this size allowed us to create an almost seamless finish, without the grout lines associated with conventional tiling.

One of the more unusual features is the bespoke sloping stone basin, carefully manufactured with a concealed waste slot so that water appears to disappear directly into the wall.

Getting the stone into position presented its own challenges. The large shower panels had to be carefully manoeuvred up a narrow staircase and into the loft without damaging the material.

From the stone skirtings to the shower walls and handcrafted basin, every element was designed to work together.

A good example of how carefully considered stonework can turn an awkward space into something rather special.

Probably the most luxurious cable box you've ever seen.

Here Simon shows us a rather unusual piece of bespoke stonework being manufactured in our workshop, designed for the relatively simple job of concealing some cables.

Except there's nothing particularly simple about making it.

Manufactured from solid natural stone, the box has been made specifically to fit the space, with tapered edges to accommodate walls that aren't quite square and carefully measured cutouts to fit around the existing steelwork.

It's the sort of job that requires a little more thought than simply cutting stone to size. Every angle and opening has to be considered to ensure the finished piece fits precisely.

And that's one of the things we enjoy most about working with stone. Not every project is a kitchen worktop, fireplace or staircase.

Sometimes it's the awkward, one-off jobs that other people might turn down that give us the opportunity to do something a little different.

Here Simon takes us through a rather extraordinary quartzite garden bench currently being manufactured in our workshop for a private residence in Knightsbridge, London.

The bench will form an L-shaped structure, with carefully mitred joints, detailed edge profiles and bookmatched stone to ensure the natural veining flows across the finished piece.

Underneath, there's an extensive system of supporting braces. With something of this size and weight, getting the construction right is essential.

There's even integrated LED lighting beneath the seating, adding another dimension to the finished design.

It's an unusually elaborate piece of bespoke stonework, bringing together precise fabrication, structural considerations and some particularly beautiful quartzite.

This bespoke surround was manufactured from Calacatta Viola marble, a material known for its bold, expressive veining and distinctive contrast of soft whites, greys and deeper purple tones.

The complete fireplace was fabricated and assembled in our workshop, giving us greater control over the joints, mitres and how the natural pattern moves across the finished piece.

With good access at the property, we were then able to transport and install the entire surround in one piece, rather than assembling the individual sections on site.

The result is a clean, substantial fireplace where the construction remains deliberately simple and the character of the Calacatta Viola becomes the focal point.

A dinosaur on the factory floor isn't something we come across every day!

On his latest walk around the workshop, Simon spotted this piece being worked on by sculptor — a dinosaur carefully inscribed into a stone gravestone.

Rosso Verde Luana marble doing what natural stone does best.

For this kitchen in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, the material was used extensively across the island and architectural detailing, allowing its distinctive flowing veining to become part of the room rather than simply a work surface.

The island features bespoke edge detailing, carefully shaped and finished by hand to create a deep, layered profile. It’s a relatively small detail in the overall kitchen, but it completely changes the character of the finished piece and gives the island a much more sculptural quality.

We also manufactured and installed the extensive stone cornicing around the cabinetry, carrying the same material and detailing vertically through the space.
A good example of what can be achieved when natural marble is treated as an architectural material, not just a kitchen worktop.

A batch of swimming pool tiles going through the workshop.

Here Simon explains some of the work involved before these tiles are ready for installation. Each one is being cut to the required size before a bullnose profile is worked onto the exposed edge, creating a smooth, rounded finish around the pool.

The more interesting part comes at the end of the pool, where the flooring follows a curve rather than a straight line.

That section will be formed from around five individual tiles, each one cut precisely to a template so that when they're installed together, they follow the curve accurately and maintain a consistent bullnose edge throughout.

It's a good example of the work that goes into a detail that will look relatively simple once everything is installed.
