1960s GPlan 403 “TV” chair. This is really an early version of what we now call modular furniture - the idea being that several could be joined together in a row to make a sofa (to watch the TV!)
This one belonged to my client’s grandma. Fully re-upholstered and covered in this gorgeous green which has a slightly vintage feel.

💚 Green goddess 💚
This chaise belonged to my client’s parents and she always remembers it being in the house growing up. As its new custodian, my client wanted to bring it back to life whilst not moving too far away from how it looked before. When fully stripped back, I did have a surprise as there had been a few alterations over the years - and the way it looks now is not how it originally started out life. After a bit of problem-solving and a few repairs it was ready to be reupholstered.

Art Deco cane chair with ‘sunrise’ back. A lot of work went into getting this chair back to its beautiful self. Cane work is quite niche and I am still relatively new to it but it’s important to hold onto these heritage skills. My client says that her Dad (who is now in his eighties) remembers the chair being in the house when he was a boy so it’s definitely a treasured family piece. I’m so happy that its journey will be continuing - and thank you to my client for trusting me with it 💚

They don’t make office chairs like this anymore! Solid wood, British made, cast iron mechanism. Dating from the 1920s/30s, it was in a factory/mill and actually used by my client’s father - my client also still has the matching desk. Stripped down, fixed, given a really good clean and reupholstered. What a little treasure 🤎

9/9/1983 - I was probably daydreaming about being one of the Kids From Fame, Red Red W**e was No.1 in the charts and this little Parker Knoll chair was getting ready to leave the factory.
I always love finding the sale ticket still fastened to the frame inside Parker Knoll chairs. As well as being a bit nostalgic it helps piece together memories as these chairs are often passed down from parents, grandparents etc. This chair was my client’s grandmas so it’s wonderful to have brought it back to life and modernised it for a new generation.
Stripped back to the frame, orange shiny varnish removed, woodwork sanded and oiled, fully re-upholstered and covered in this pretty sage pinstripe 👌🏻

Would you believe this is an Ikea chair? My client really liked the chair. I do too - It has a really good silhouette and very much that mid-century scandi vibe. But the fabric had become worn.
It would have been easy - and cheaper - to simply replace it, even though it has a good wooden frame and the insides are perfectly fine - and, there will be plenty of chairs like this one all across the world going into landfill just because the fabric is worn 😞
Thankfully my client chose the more sustainable option - have it re-covered 🌍🌱♻️
The result is something totally bespoke and it’s now an overall better quality product.
Teamed-up with some matching cushions it all ties-in perfectly with the existing interior 👌🏻
