Full on strip mode right now for a client!
Messy, messy work when you have no fancy machines and do it all with hard graft and various improvised tools! 💪🏻😅

If I decided to refinish furniture full time I would definitely invest in one of these! Would cut some of my jobs by at least 20 hours! 😅

Sometimes the vision for something doesn’t work out as expected, but no piece of furniture is without the option of a redesign and a new life!

It was hoped I could sand this little cabinet and make it ‘lighter’, but sadly the wood quality wasn’t that great, years of ingrained stain, so I suggested painting it.

My client chose a lovely warm terracotta colour to compliment her hallway floor tiles and I fitted an antique brass k**b to finish it off. I think you’ll agree it looks fresh and fabulous! 😍

I absolutely love the sunshine and heat (rare for Scotland) but it's playing havoc with my painting, the paint is drying too quick and the wood is swelling with the heat!

Any tips/advice from fellow furniture upcyclers welcome. How do those who live in hot countries manage? Although I'm assuming air conditioning comes into play.....

Another commission complete. This time sprucing up a beautiful old farmhouse table (for the same lovely lady I did the sideboard and drinks cabinet for).

It’s very satisfying to see it all looking lovely together in their home (first photo).

This gorgeous sideboard was one of the heaviest items I’ve worked on! Solid Mexican wood. Years of wax build up to strip off before I could sand to the natural wood for painting.

It was very rustic in design which didn’t suit my client’s taste, so I filled in most of the cracks, knots, holes and uneven surfaces before I primed then painted. Then sealed the top surface with clear wax oil. Lovely antique brass hardware then gave it a more classic look in keeping with the decor of her home

In between several commissions I’ve got on the go I managed to finish off my dining chairs.

Might not be to everyone’s taste, but I love a shabby chic finish and thought I’d style them up with a leopard print seat pad 🤎💛
