Divan, ottoman or bed frame? Three beds, three different jobs. 🛏️

A divan gives you drawers for the things you use every week - and it splits in two for narrow stairs. An ottoman lifts the whole mattress, so the storage is the full footprint of the bed - for the things you keep. A frame gives you visible timber and air under the mattress, but the storage lives elsewhere.

The honest answer: choose on storage and looks, not on quality. And tape the footprint out on the floor before you buy - mattress size + 10cm, with 70cm of walking room on every open side.

📖 The full plain-English guide is on the Journal today: What Is a Divan Bed? Divan vs Ottoman vs Bed Frame, Explained. Link https://blackbridgefurnishings.co.uk/blogs/news/what-is-a-divan-bed - or come and lie on all three at Millburn Road, Inverness.

The sale is over. Price Lock is not. 🔒

Between sales is when most furniture shops hope you'll wait. Price Lock is our answer: on 65 lines, the ticket price is locked for the whole of 2026 - the lowest price you'll pay, irrespective of any promotions. When the next sale starts, these prices don't get undercut.

So there's no waiting for the next event, no code, no surprises. If the room needs it now, buy it now - it costs the same as it will in the sale.

Look for the Price Lock tag across sofas, beds and oak bedroom & dining.

The bigger pieces are worth planning for. 🍂

Autumn is when you start noticing the room again - the sofa that's given out, the bedroom that never quite calmed down. It's also when a rushed December buy gets made. So: pick one piece to do properly, work out the monthly figure you're comfortable with, then shop to that number.

Klarna at the checkout shows the schedule in writing before you commit - how much, on which dates. And the price on the ticket is the price you pay, spread or not.

📖 Today on the Journal: Bedroom Storage Ideas: How to Make the Room Feel Calmer - the cheapest way to make a room feel bigger.

Klarna is available to UK residents aged 18+, subject to status. Please spend responsibly. Full terms from Klarna.

Corner sofa or 2+3 seater? Save this before you buy. 📌

The mistake we see most isn't buying a bad sofa - it's buying a good sofa that's wrong for the room. Too deep for the walkway, too big for the stairs, or a corner facing the wrong way.

Swipe for the tape trick, the clearances that matter, how to pick between a corner and a 2+3 set, and the recliner measurement almost everyone skips.

📖 Full guide on the Journal today: How to Choose a Sofa - Corner vs 2+3 Seater, and How to Measure. Link below https://blackbridgefurnishings.co.uk/blogs/news/how-to-choose-a-sofa

Or bring your measurements to Millburn Road and we'll talk them through.
