Cherry and cluster elm veneer, all made by hand in our Ipswich workshop.

Veneering and fine cabinet making are what we’ve done at T&G for over a century, and it was a joy to work with a client who loved that side of us as much as we do.
He was open to letting the design flow, so we leaned into Art Deco: curved ends, sweeping cornices, and not a hard corner where it didn’t need one.

A favourite detail is one you’d never spot. We set the island drawers back so you can stand right up to the worktop without stubbing your toes or stooping. It’s a small thing, but you feel it every day.

Anyone else hankering after proper wellie weather? The kind of day when a well-designed boot room really earns its keep.
A little throwback to WOW!house 2025, where we were proud to have one of our boot rooms in the wonderful Sims Hilditch Interiors room. Hand-painted panels, an oak library ladder and plenty of places for muddy boots to call home.

A recently installed scullery for a period house in the Cotswolds. Designed and handmade in our Ipswich workshop. Taking inspiration from a traditional T&G oak Welsh dresser base, we developed the design using hand-turned legs, shaped spandrels, and a tongue-and-groove backboard. A solid oak worktop with grooved draining board either side of the butler sink. Curtains made by Katherine Brown

Simple. Functional. Beautiful.
A newly installed boot room, built for muddy boots, wet coats and busy mornings.
Painted tongue-and-groove panelling sits beneath a solid oak shelf on hand-shaped brackets, with brass double hooks for every coat in the house. Below, a solid oak bench top sits over open, oak-lined cubbies for boots and shoes. Across the room, a fluted ceramic sink and a turned-leg oak console finish the space.
Nothing extra, just everything it needs to be, made properly to last.

Every curve, every veneer and every finger-pull on this Woking kitchen was made in our Ipswich workshop, drawing on more than a century of traditional cabinet making and finishing. No machines doing the thinking, just skilled hands and timber chosen for its character.

The carving on this grand oak four poster is something to behold.
It’s the sort of detail you only get by hand.
And because each bed is made for one owner, there’s room to work in something personal — a crest, a date, a motif that means something to the family.
Skills like these still being passed on in the workshop. We’re rather proud of that.
