RE: Workshop

The RE: Team were tasked to create a fun way of displaying students work. The result, these tRE:es 🌲which are now proudly displaying work in the Education and Early Years department at Quarry Hill, Leeds City College. ♻️

We are at John Lewis Leeds again this Saturday (7th June) to do a Father’s Day workshop 🛠️

We will be there between 10am and 2pm and have some new and unique designs specifically for Father’s Day 🫶

On Bank Holiday Monday, the RE team were at John Lewis taking part in their Easter Event Day 🐣🐰

Thought out the day, there were many different activities for children and parents to take part in including hat making 👒 Pom-pom making ✂️ and face painting 🖌️

RE completed a very busy and successful coaster, flower and keyring decorating workshop and everyone had a blast! 🙌🏻🎉

Join us this Mother’s Day to design and paint a sustainable item with the RE: Team at John Lewis♻️🎨

All items have been handcrafted out of repurposed furniture from Leeds City College that otherwise would have been thrown away!

Hello all! Did you miss us? 👀🙈🫶

Sorry for being MIA recently! Our team had a lovely 2 weeks off over the Christmas period and then had a crazy 2 weeks back 😅

Last week, RE was involved in our Create and Connect event that was hosted at Printworks Kitchen and Bar 🎉 the event was for external stakeholders to connect with RE and other services within Leeds City College!

Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to collaborating with you in the future!

Yesterday, the final piece of the puzzle (as it were) was completed here at Somerville on our Culture Day 🌈

Our students and the RE team have now put up the luggage tags that were created in the first half term of this academic year and we couldn’t be prouder to showcase this diversity within our rather small campus 🥹

It was a lovely day celebrating all the different types of cultures we have in many different ways, and getting to showcase it with this world map was amazing 🌍🫶

Yesterday, the RE:Team attended this year’s Leeds Creative Skills Festival at the Royal Armouries 🎨🤝🏻😊

Leeds Creative Skills Festival (LCSF) is an annual event hosted by Leeds City Council to inspire and aid the next generation of creative peope in a variety of different industries. RE: was one of the attendees yesterday, along with the Creative Arts Department and Music Performance and Production students from Quarry Hill.

We were there to discuss our student courses and school workshops with the 1500 students and staff from different schools across West Yorkshire. We had a tonne of informative and interesting conversations which has already lead to connections being made with our team.

After 4pm, the event was open to everyone, giving the RE: team a chance to discuss workshops with the general public and spark interest in creative people who want to develop their skills further or interest those who find comfort in creating their own bespoke piece 🛠

Overall, the event was a huge success! Neil and the team made over 300 keyrings which were all gone by the end of the day 😲

After lots of graft and hard work from the RE Team, the world map for our Somerville House campus is finished and up! 🌈

This map will be used for our students for the end of their About Me Project. Each student has made a tag from where they are from, and these will be placed on the coming weeks 🌍☺️

Thank you to everyone who attended the Next Gen event at North Church yesterday! 📚 we had a blast doing a workshop with the students who attended! We hope you loved it, these designs are fantastic✏️🎨💛
