Start of a new week, Customer wanted a new pair of timber doors for the garage as the old pair had dropped and were rotting and dropping off the posts. Two new 4x3 posts bolted to the wall of the garage and then two new timber doors hung with much stronger hinges to help prevent the doors from dropping, 150mm wide paled boards used for these solid doors. Also the customer had no gate to give privacy when siting at the rear of the property so we have installed a new gate to match the garage doors, again paled boards 100mm wide used with 5mm gaps between each board to allow air to flow through, this gate is a wide one so 3 hinges used to carry the weight. Customer is very happy with the outcome and the privacy she now has😎👍🏼

Final one for this week, Customer has had a hedge removed and wanted it replaced with a high fence for more privacy as their garden slopes down and faces the local high school so needed a higher fence so people can’t see over as easily. 5 new posts set, 3 cross rails added and then 8ft featheredge boards nailed on and finished off with an apex capping, there is a gap between the fence I have added and the hedge/trees to the left, the customer is having more trees planted to close that little gap off😎👍🏼

Neighboring properties have had a lot of work done on their properties and now it was time to add a fence between them on their boundary lines where a row of dying bushes were, so we have added a contemporary style 6ft fence with 100mm posts and post caps to finish it all off, Materials were supplied for this one so it was a labour only install today😎👍🏼

Last couple of days were spent updating the tired looking patio area with a new Deck along with a balustrade and spindles and a step down to the lawn and then building a gate at the side of the property to give more security and privacy 😎👍🏼

Two parts to this job, first we replaced the panels along the back that were looking tired and ready for an update, posts dug out and replaced along with 3 new panels, this property has shared access to the rear with 4 other properties that all have the same panels along the back raised up above the wall to give more privacy so the customer wanted like for like to keep the same as the others.
Second part was to give my customer more privacy and have a contemporary style fence set infront of the neighbouring fence, I was asked not to remove the neighbours fence or shared gate so we have run the new fence directly infront of the existing one and added a gate to match that opens into my customers garden so that it doesn’t effect the original gate 😎👍🏼
Gavin Lumley is heading back next week to remove all the old pebbles and then relay a new membrane and adding a mod modern gravel to complement the new fences.

Old decking taken up on this one today then replaced with new boards to bring it back to life, the frame was still solid and great condition so this one was a straight swap out of old boards for new.

This week we returned to one of our customers that we worked for early last year to do some more composite decking, this time we carried on from the pathway we built to lead to a raised area with 4 steps leading to the raised deck, we then moved to the second tier garden area to build another deck along with a timber Pergola with slatted backs to compliment the stone grey composite decking, unfortunately we were just shy of composite fascia’s for the lower steps so we will be returning in a weeks time to finish those little bits off 😎👍🏼

Something a little different today, I was asked if I could build an insect hotel for a project that a customer is involved with at The Leeds Hospice at Seacroft Hospital.
I will be delivering it on Friday and it’s a children’s activity so they will be filling the shelves with various things such as bamboo shoots etc so obviously it’s been great to be involved with this one and hopefully it will bring some fun for those involved😎👍🏼

Last few days work, ripping up an old deck that was rotting in various places and replacing with new and then adding a pergola above with a solid roof
3m long by 3.6m wide at its widest point.
3 sides now cladded with log lap tongue and groove to give my customer a new place to enjoy for the remainder of the summer and beyond😎👍🏼

2 day project earlier this week updating the fences on 3 sides along with a gate to match in Contemporary style rounded batons, new posts added every 3ft to make sure the batons don’t start to warp, one side proved to be fairly tricky as the existing fence wasn’t the straightest so after lining the batons using my spacer I had to take a lot back off after noticing one part wasn’t lining up which was very noticeable for the customer from the kitchen window so day two was started with taking most of it back off to start again to make sure each baton lined up correctly, we got there in the end, all 3 sides are finished off with a wider capping and this job was finished off with adding more sleepers to match up with the ones that we installed earlier this year😎👍🏼
