And here we have a "Diddy axe" part 2. I had a rather gorgeous old Swift Kent pattern in the box that needed the Diddy treatment. This handle is a little chunkier than the first one. I love giving new life to old tools. I got to saw the wedge slit with my near 200 year old drabble and sanderson tenon saw. The axe head is at least a hundred. Old tools rule. Do you like it?

I've turned an old Gilpin Chip Chop into a "Diddy" axe. Perfect for spoon carving. The handle is still in need of some facets. What do ya think of it?

Today is international axe fettling day! So I'm fettling some axes. Handles sympathetically restored where possible. Initial re grind. Just need a final sharpen, and a couple of re wedges, and a couple of heads that need handles, or hafts or whatever you prefer to call em.

Just had an absolutely brilliant weekend making an ash flat bow and arrow shafts with James at his workshop. Final bow shoots rather well. James is a bloody great teacher. He helped me when needed and left me to it also. I have to give it a final finish and make a bowstring. Chuffed to bits.

We built a craft school. What a fabulous couple of weeks.

Rafters going on today. The sky is blue. We have been so lucky with the weather for this build. Tarp will be going on very soon. Happy days.

We got a couple of bays up today, with all hands on deck. It's going to be a great space to learn crafts and new skillz. Lucky to be working with such talented chaps. Hope everyone is fabulous.

I've had a lovely relaxing day today after a good weeks graft. Worked yesterday too, so was starting to feel it. I carved a spoon this morning. Met a nice chap called Bill, who really liked my wooden mug. I showed him the spoon I'd carved, and he loved it, so it was only fair I gave it to him. Its nice to be kind. Took Martha for a good walk and fetch. Its so nice to have some good weather. Happy days. Hope you are all fabulous.
