From the smallest console table to the largest dining table or super king-size bed, the same care and attention goes into every piece I make.

This simple solid timber console table was made to dress a hallway without taking up too much space.

The slim top gives just enough room for a lamp, candle, photo frame or a few decorative pieces, while the black hairpin legs keep the design light and understated.

A small piece of furniture, but one that can completely change an otherwise empty hallway.

As always, console tables can be made to suit your space, with options for:

• Custom widths, heights and depths
• Straight, angled, timber or metal legs
• Shelves or drawers
• Different timber finishes
• Painted or natural options
• Bespoke designs for narrow or awkward spaces

Solid timber. Handmade in Lichfield. Made to order.

If you have a hallway, landing or small space that needs finishing off, send me a photo and some rough measurements and I can make something to suit.

They’re slimline, practical and can make an otherwise plain radiator feel much more like part of the room.

Made to fit where standard furniture wouldn’t 👌

This custom narrow sideboard was designed specifically for a customer who needed plenty of storage without taking up too much depth in the room.

They simply couldn’t find anything suitable off the shelf, so I made one to fit the space properly.

Finished in a rich Dark Oak wax, this one features:

• A slim, made-to-measure design
• Plenty of enclosed storage
• Sleek handleless push-to-open doors
• Cable cut-outs in the rear panel for media and electrical equipment
• A clean, simple look that works really well beneath the wall-mounted TV

This is exactly the advantage of having something made to order — the size, internal layout and little practical details can all be built around the room and how the furniture will actually be used.

Making awkward spaces useful

This custom L-shaped shoe storage unit was made to fit neatly inside a cupboard where standard furniture simply wouldn’t work.

The brief was simple — make the most of the available space and create plenty of accessible shoe storage without making the cupboard feel cramped.

By building the unit specifically around the shape and dimensions of the space, it gives storage on both sides while still leaving room to step inside and easily reach everything.

This is exactly where made-to-measure furniture comes into its own.

Whether it’s a cupboard, hallway, alcove, under-stairs area or another awkward corner, the design can be adapted around the space you actually have.

Options can include:

• Straight, corner or L-shaped layouts
• Different shelf heights for shoes and boots
• Open shelving or basket storage
• Custom widths, heights and depths
• Different timber finishes
• Designs built around skirting, doors and other obstacles

It was an absolute pleasure to make and deliver this huge 3 metre x 1.2 metre custom farmhouse dining table to a beautiful home local to us here at Lichfield Furniture Company.

At this size, it really is a statement piece — but seeing it in the room, it feels completely at home and fills the space beautifully.

The customer wanted a substantial traditional farmhouse-style table, so this one was made with a large solid timber top and chunky turned legs to give it the presence the room needed.

This is exactly why I enjoy making furniture to order. A table like this doesn’t have to come in a standard size — it can be designed around the room, the number of people you want to seat and the style of your home.

Dining tables can be made with:

• Custom lengths and widths
• Different timber thicknesses
• Straight, angled, turned or custom leg styles
• Wooden or metal bases
• Different edge styles
• A choice of wax finishes and colours
• Designs ranging from rustic farmhouse through to more contemporary styles

There’s something really satisfying about seeing a piece this size finally in the room it was made for — and I think this one suits the space perfectly.

If you’re looking for a dining table made specifically for your home, send me a message with your rough dimensions and ideas and I’d be happy to have a look.

Safely in their new home

This latest shoe storage bench and matching coat rack have now been delivered and are looking right at home in the hallway.

The bench was made to give plenty of practical storage without taking over the space, with four wicker baskets for shoes and everyday bits, while the matching wall-mounted coat hooks keep everything together and make great use of the wall above.

I really like how this set has worked in the room — practical, solid, and still warm enough to feel like part of the decor rather than just storage.

As always, these can be made to suit your space, with options including:

• Different widths, heights and depths
• Basket storage or open shelving
• Different numbers of compartments
• Matching coat hooks in your chosen size
• Different hook styles and quantities
• Choice of timber finishes
• Painted or contrasting finishes
• Bespoke layouts to suit awkward spaces
