Someone tried to get a picture of the hilux at Drumlanrig Castle at the weekend and these two appeared 😄

Drumlanrig Castle 30/31st May 2026 - Marshals.

The Lombard Rally Festival is shaping is shaping up to becs great event. Marshals come join us for what will be a relaxed, enjoyable event with Rally Cars of past and with a few static classic car displays.

Every marshal attending will get £20 each day towards your expenses and lunch will also be provided. Free camping within the castle estate is also available, toilets and water onsite.

With just under two weeks till the event another 20 Marshals would really help with running the event. You volunteering would really help. Could also do with some Marshals with 4x4's.

Winches and synthetic ropes.

So I currently have a Goodwinch Tds9 5 with a steel wire rope, which done everything I have asked off it. But I am about to give the front end of the hilux a bit of Tlc and thinking of going over to synthetic rope.
Anyway I am thinking of updating the winch at the same time, keeping the Tds as a spare or even mounting it in the dolly.

So what lowline winches and ropes are people using/ recommending?
