Those who have followed along with what we do at Pentreath & Hall will know that English creamware and the potteries of Stoke-on-Trent hold a very special place in Ben’s and my hearts and we have always done our best to support those that we can. With the sad news of the winding up of the 217-year-old Denby Pottery and the surprise announcement that former Burberry boss Christopher Bailey has acquired Burleigh Pottery earlier this week, it seems timely that we have two new beautiful creamware table lamps to add to our Creamware collection - The High Shouldered and Temple table lamps. Over 12 years of collaborating with Stoke potteries on our own designs and long may it continue. Potteries are wonderful places and the people are so skilled. The amount of work and care they put into each piece will never fail to impress me.I look forward to seeing what will happen at Burleigh and wish them every success. Styling & 📸 by

Since opening the shop in November 2008, we’ve been acutely aware of the scarcity of a good lampshade. In 2009 we began to have our own marbled lampshades made and gradually over time have added to our collection. The extraordinary silk ikat shades lined with Irish linen from Melodi Horne, fabulous faux finish shades by Bridie and the classically bold book cloth shades by Marianna Kennedy.
But sometimes a quiet corner isn’t calling out for something so high-concept and wants for something calming instead. Taking a muted hue inspiration from the historical Wedgwood pottery, Aubusson and Verdure tapestry colour archives, we’ve created a collection of plain card coloured lampshades - now available in 6” diameter to fit our Ionic Column Table Lamp and all small bulb fixtures.

We had SO MUCH fun at the Issue 5 magazine launch party hosted at the world’s most beautiful bookshop last night. Pictured is Ben with the Westness House cover edition now available to order with us too. Also featuring alongside Ben & Charlie in this bumper issue are; Jasper Conran, the Royal Opera House, Cécile Daladier & Nicolas Soulier, Feliks Topolski, Nabil Nahas and more. For those of you unfamiliar with this title, at 320 pages, it is a giant among the shelter genre of publications and a wonderful read. We can’t wait to sit in some cool shade to enjoy our copies! We’ve had a wonderful time with our antique dealer residing in our Rugby Street Showroom for the month of May. Tomorrow is her last day with us. She’ll be open from 11am - 5pm along with our Lambs Conduit Street shop which is just around the corner. We’re going to miss her like mad but can look forward to thinking up another activity to do together soon. Like stepping into the shade of a Mediterranean garden on a hot summer day. Crisp, clean and wonderfully refreshing, leaving the senses feeling soothed and awakened in the summer heat. The fresh green notes of basil and sparkling neroli feel instantly cooling and reviving.

This rich body of soap, cast in two parts and individually made by hand in London, is gently perfumed with a fresh sparkling citrus herbal fragrance. Opening with fresh basil top notes supported by nuances of lemon and mandarin leading to a heart of radiant neroli, rose, jasmine and cyclamen. The base is composed of rich musk, precious woods and amber.
