This weeks Basic MiG Welding one student created an intergalactic space slug.... made from a piece of of 70mm pipe, a 70mm hollow sphere and a couple of smaller hollow spheres welded to stalks. The mouth is made by cutting a slit and heating it up and bending out the lips... The day is 6hrs long- the first half of the day is running welds, metres of it followed by a test of the different welds then the second half making up whatever....
