This is a little box I made in olive ash. The entire construction is of solid wood, including the walnut peg hinges.
The dovetail joints are hand sawed. The lip of the lid is shaped with a spoke shave and the back edge is rounded over with a hand plane.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this box.

Last week I finished this six-seater trestle style dining table. It’s made from a London plane tree felled in Essex. I designed it to dismantle so that it could get up the stairs and around the tight corridor bend into our flat.
I’m going to be making more tables like this from beautiful, locally grown, ethically sourced British hardwoods. If you’d like me to make you one, send me a message
