Decorating your bedroom is easier than you think. It starts with one decision - your palette.
Farrow & Ball Mizzle. Farrow & Ball Dimity. Farrow & Ball Moles Breath.

The Selkirk -dark bronze iron with brass ball finials - in a beamed cottage room where the oil paintings collected themselves over years and the tartan cushion belongs completely.

This is how a bedroom gets a story.

The Austin - upholstered in multi-stripe ticking, pencil finial posts - in an attic room where the books are stacked floor to ceiling and the only thing that ever changed was the walls.

Steel blue. Soft yellow. Deep plum. Same houndstooth cushions, same oak beams, same sporting prints above the headboard. Three entirely different rooms.

Which wall would you choose? Drop a 1, 2 or 3 below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Bray Slim - terracotta iron, botanical floral headboard - in a teal panelled room that committed to the terracotta and blue combination and hasnโ€™t looked back once.

Paisley cushions, a tartan throw, a macrame wall hanging that ties every colour in the room together without being asked. Stripe Roman blinds. A blush armchair in the corner because the room had room for one more good decision.

Warm and cool. Soft and bold. All at once.

Terracotta. Cream. Sage green. The Alva in antique rose iron - ornate scrollwork, arched headboard - in a warm parchment room where the bookcase is full, the botanicals are framed and the sage gingham linen does everything quietly and correctly.

The kind of room that feels like someone actually lives in it. Because they do.

Nothing changed. Except the walls.

The Carie in matte black iron - same bed, same floral linen, same pink throw - in a dusky rose attic room, a warm cream cottage room and a sage green room that feels like the garden came inside.

Three wallpapers. Three completely different moods. One bed that belongs in all of them.

Which look would you actually live in? Drop a 1, 2 or 3 below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Selkirk - periwinkle iron, rosette detailing - in a room painted the colour of afternoon sunshine.
Mustard block print linen. Yellow velvet cushions. A grey tartan throw that stops it tipping into sweet.

Books on the shelves, watercolours on the wall, garden flowers on the bedside because thereโ€™s always room for them.

Blue and yellow. The oldest combination in the book. Still this good.

Decorating your bedroom is easier than you think. It starts with one decision - your palette.
Cornflower blue. Warm camel. A dash of coral that ties it all together.

The Arigna - dark bronze ornate iron - in a blue room where the china plates are on the wall, the botanical print is in a gilt frame and the yellow tartan linen is doing exactly what it should.

This is how you make a room feel like it has a story.

Nothing changed. Except the walls.

The Burley Slim - upholstered in navy and cream ticking stripe - sat in front of forest green, terracotta and powder blue and looked completely at home in all three.
Same bed. Same abstract art.

Same walnut shelves full of books. Three entirely different rooms.

Which wall colour would you choose? Drop a 1, 2 or 3 below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Warton - sage green four-poster, pencil finials, open frame - in a limewashed plaster room that gets the light exactly right at every hour of the day.

Paisley linen in sage and cream. A coral ikat bolster. Checker and gingham cushions that shouldnโ€™t work together and absolutely do. Dahlias on both bedsides because the room deserved them.

The kind of bedroom that makes you want to redecorate everything else in the house.

Decorating your bedroom is easier than you think. It starts with one decision โ€” your palette.

Terracotta. Gold. Sage. The Ruskin in sage green, in a limestone room with oak beams, a gallery wall that grew one painting at a time and a Union Jack cushion that belongs there completely.

This is what a proper English bedroom looks like when nobody is trying too hard.
