🎙️ NEW PODCAST: THE HEALING BLUEPRINT – HOW RIVER EDGE REIMAGINED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH 🎙️
Join Pineapple’s Daniel White as he takes us on a thoughtful journey through the new, state-of-the-art, River Edge Behavioral Health Crisis Services and Diagnostic Center – a place where architecture and empathy work hand in hand, and the built environment becomes an agent of healing within the community.
Alongside Greta O’Dell and Rachel Azar, Daniel explores the design story behind this 34,000-square-foot facility, revealing how every decision — from lighting and layout to material choices and access to nature — has been shaped with patient well-being, calm and safety at heart.
It’s an interesting listen on how a therapeutic approach to design actively supports the people who use a space, and how these intentional choices go beyond aesthetics to shape behavior, support recovery, and deliver measurable, positive outcomes for service users and staff alike.
Thank you to our expert guests:
Greta O’Dell: Chief Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Officer at River Edge Behavioral Health.
Rachel Azar: Project Manager at Azar + Walsh Architects.
