At St Leonards Gardens, Malton, we have cleared the path and provided new bench seating. Situated between Old Maltongate and Greengate, the gardens are a suprisingly tranquil spot considering their proximity to the road. If you have not been they are worth a walk through, or take a moment to take a seat, and you may also hear the chime of the St Leonards clock tower which is close by.

Yorkshire Champions 2026!
We are delighted to announce that Malton in Bloom won the Golden Rose Award Category for the best entry in Yorkshire, at the Yorkshire in Bloom Awards Ceremony, held Thursday 24th September.
Last year we won the best entry in North Yorkshire which gave us the right to go head to head against the winners of West, East and South Yorkshire.
Malton in Bloom were crowned champions on Thursday.
The well stocked floral displays have looked magnificent around the town this year basking in the glorious Summer sunshine.
The success is testament to all our hard working volunteers, working tirelessly throughout the year, often behind the scenes, looking after the floral beds, growing plants, dead heading, picking up litter, and much more.
The Chair of Yorkshire in Bloom made special mention of our waterer, Gillian, for keeping the flowers watered and looking so good in this long harsh Summer.
The judge in the narrative also praised the cleanliness of the town, so thanks go to our Town Ranger Steve, to the Malton and Norton Tidy Group and Streetscene.
Malton in Bloom would like to thank all of its supporters and kind donors for helping make this achievement possible.
If you would like to become part of our award winning team contact Tim Hicks direct on [email protected]

The plants are settling in well now Summer is here. As you can see, the Petunia Ultra Stars are putting on a fine display next to, and contrasted by, the Blue Lobelia. This photo is taken at Market Street corner in Malton. A big thank you to Gillian our waterer for keeping on top of the watering in this blistering weather.
