✨ A little bit of history, lovingly revived... ✨

This beautiful antique corner cupboard came to my studio.

Rather than painting it, the decision was made to celebrate what was already there. After a careful clean, gentle repairs, colour restoration and a nourishing wax finish, the rich tones and character that had been hidden beneath years of wear have come back to life. Every mark, grain pattern and subtle imperfection tells part of its story.

I absolutely love pieces like this. They remind us that not everything needs to be replaced.

Sometimes all that's needed is a little TLC and an appreciation for the craftsmanship that has allowed a piece to survive for generations.

This charming cupboard is now ready to begin its next chapter in my lovely client's bathroom, where it will bring warmth, character and practical storage to the space.

I can't wait to see it installed and being enjoyed for many more years to come. 🤎

❤️ A Fresh New Chapter for a Family Treasure ❤️

When Pauline contacted me about her dining table and chairs, she wasn't looking for new furniture.

She was looking for a way to keep a piece of her family history.

This beautiful dining set belonged to her late parents and has been part of her life for over 50 years. Although it had been refinished around 10 years ago, the finish no longer suited her home and the set was ready for a fresh new chapter.

The oak top was carefully stripped back and refinished to create a softer, warmer natural wood tone, while the table base and chairs were professionally refinished in a soft warm white.

The transformation isn't just about how it looks – it's about preserving memories, honouring the past and creating something that can be enjoyed for many more years to come.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is a happy client, and Pauline's review brought a huge smile to my face:

"How lucky was I to find Flippin' Sixpence online... I'm absolutely thrilled with how it looks and can't thank her enough."

Thank you, Pauline, for trusting me with such a special piece ❤️

If you have a piece of furniture that holds memories but no longer suits your home, I'd love to help you give it a fresh new chapter.

This lovely dining set was refinished by someone else around 10 years ago, but because it’s not only great quality furniture but also holds special memories, my client wanted to update it rather than replace it ✨

The chairs have now been fully refinished in a soft warm white, while the oak top has been stripped back and softened to create a calmer, more natural finish that works beautifully with her kitchen today.

These spindle-back chairs may look simple, but they are incredibly time-consuming to do properly — every spindle, edge and detail takes patience and care to achieve a smooth, durable finish that will last for years to come.

I’ve also sourced new fitted seat pads which are going to finish the set off beautifully and really elevate the overall look 😊

The oak top is currently curing before I reassemble everything and take the final photographs, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little glimpse of the transformation so far.

There’s something really special about keeping quality furniture in the family home and giving it a fresh new chapter rather than replacing it ❤️

There’s something really satisfying about seeing the same furniture in a completely different light ✨
These solid oak pieces were already beautifully made, but the heavy orange tone made them feel dated and dark within the room. By carefully refinishing them in a soft warm neutral, while keeping the natural oak tops for warmth and character, they’ve been transformed into timeless statement pieces that feel lighter, fresher and far more in keeping with a modern home.
What I love most is that this isn’t just about paint… it’s about giving quality furniture a second life rather than replacing it with flat-pack alternatives. These pieces are built to last for generations and now they look right at home again 🤍

There’s something incredibly special about giving a piece like this a second life ✨

This Victorian dresser was originally made in Radcliffe between 1886 and 1896, and over the past few weeks it has been lovingly restored and completely reimagined in my studio.

What began as a tired, timeworn piece became a true labour of love.

The original shellac was carefully stripped away to reveal the beautiful warmth and grain of the wood beneath. Every dent and imperfection was thoughtfully repaired, the top refinished through multiple layers for a smooth, durable finish, and the original handles restored by hand so they could continue to tell part of the piece’s story.

The rich deep tone was chosen to bring a more refined, contemporary feel while still respecting the elegance and craftsmanship of the original design.

Inside, a softer detail awaits — botanical lined drawers and decorative detailing that add warmth, depth, and those quiet little moments that make a piece feel truly special.

This isn’t mass-produced furniture.
It’s a one-of-a-kind piece with history, character, and soul.

Created slowly, intentionally, and with genuine care every step of the way 🤍

Another beautiful transformation completed and ready to return to my lovely customer 🤍

These solid oak sideboards have been completely refinished with a fresh warm neutral finish, natural oak tops and the original hardware carefully cleaned and restored to keep their character and charm.

There’s something really special about taking quality furniture that’s already part of someone’s home and giving it a whole new lease of life rather than replacing it with flat pack furniture.
I absolutely love how calm, elegant and timeless these pieces now look ✨

Thank you so much for trusting me with them.

There’s something quietly special about a piece like this.

Long before it found its way into my studio in Radcliffe, this dresser would have been part of someone’s everyday life — a place to get ready in the morning, to store treasured things, to sit for a moment at the start or end of the day. Made in the late 19th century, it’s already lived a lifetime or two.

But time, as it does, had taken its toll.

The original finish had dulled, layers had built up, and what was once a beautiful, well-crafted piece had become tired and overlooked. And yet, underneath it all, the quality was still there — the proportions, the timber, the craftsmanship. It just needed bringing back to life.

The restoration began by carefully stripping away the old shellac, revealing the natural warmth of the wood beneath. Every small dent and imperfection was filled and refined, not to erase its history, but to honour it properly. The top alone became a project in itself — eight coats of primer and paint, built up slowly to create a finish that feels smooth, durable, and worthy of the piece.

The original handles were never replaced — just patiently restored over several hours, cleaned and revived so they could sit proudly again against the renewed finish. The drawer fronts were left natural, allowing the beauty of the grain to speak, while the body was reimagined in a rich, deep tone that gives the piece a new sense of presence.

Inside, there’s a quieter moment of detail — the floral lining, chosen to add depth and softness, something that’s discovered rather than immediately seen. A small touch, but one that transforms how the piece feels to use.

This has never been about rushing to the end result.

It’s been about taking the time to do things properly — to respect where the piece has come from, while thoughtfully redesigning it for how we live today.

Now, it’s ready to begin its next chapter.

A piece with history.
A piece with presence.
And a piece that’s been brought back to life with care, patience, and a genuine love for what it could become.

This piece has been a true labour of love, and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out 🤍

If you can picture this in your home, or you’re looking for something completely unique, send me a message or a quick photo of your space — I’d love to help you find the perfect piece or create something just for you.

From this orangey oak...to something soft, calm and completely refreshed ✨

These are lovely solid pieces that just needed a makeover for my client. By keeping the tops natural and lightening them, pairing them with Fusion Cashmere on the bases, it's completely lifted then without losing their character.

This is what I love most... taking something you already have and turning it into something that fits your home and style beautifully 🤍

If you've got furniture that feels tired or outdated, don't rush to replace it. Sometimes it just needs the right vision.

If you'd like me to take a look, send me a photo and I'll happily advise 😊

From tired and overlooked… to something truly special ✨
These drawers had hidden beauty just waiting to be uncovered. Once I carefully stripped them back, the most stunning burr walnut grain appeared and instantly became the star of the show.

Paired with a deep earthy green, restored original handles, and botanical lined drawers for that extra touch… this piece is now full of warmth, character, and timeless style.

This is why I love what I do — taking forgotten furniture and giving it a whole new life.

Now sold 💫

If you have a piece you’d love transformed, or would like something similar created, send me a message.

From tired solid oak to something truly special… watch this to see the final reveal.

This beautiful dresser has been completely refinished in a soft timeless blue, with fresh cream interiors to brighten the display space and elegant gold botanical detailing for that extra touch of character.

Finished with new brushed gold k***s, it now feels fresh, stylish and ready to take pride of place in its new home.

I love transforming solid quality furniture like this and showing what’s possible with vision and craftsmanship.

Having a piece redesigned to suit your own home and style is not something you can just go and buy. It becomes completely unique to you, created especially for your space.

If you’ve got a piece that no longer works for your home, send me a photo and let’s chat about the possibilities.
