I fitted these clean lined, birch ply cupboards with no backs to make the best use of every inch of space within the alcoves. The floating shelf in the fireplace is for a gaming console with a screen above.

Although coats and boots are far from our minds right now, this hallway bench and storage will come into it’s own as the temperatures eventually cool. Somewhere to sit down and undo fiddly laces with cold fingers and plenty of room to hang the coats and stash the footwear so you don’t trip over them the next time you come in.

This storage wall wraps around an existing storeroom and bathroom with space for a big screen and plenty of cupboards and shelves. The doors to the rooms behind are flush and match the rest. This is my small part of a whole building refurbishment for and I can’t wait to see how it all looks when it’s finished.

Not the easiest project to photograph but this hopefully gives a sense of the scale of this walk in wardrobe/ dressing room fitted under the eaves. It features multiple storage solutions such as pull down rails, tilted shelves for shoes and capacious soft close drawers, with lots of room for hanging clothes and adjustable shelves for folded garments and boxes. Complete with a mirrored door to check your outfit on the way out.

A nice chunky kitchen table, ready for the weight of all that Christmas food. It’s the same height as a worktop so can be used in different ways and has a cupboard that fits perfectly beneath for pots and pans. Here’s hoping you all have an enjoyable Christmas dinner next week.

Lots of practical floating shelves in these alcoves, sometimes simple is all you need.

Storage for a music lover. A cupboard for records in an alcove housing the player on top with a floating shelf above. Opposite, shelves to fit many CDs, although apparently not the whole collection! Made from Douglas fir also known as BC pine.

I haven’t made a piece from off cuts for ages and really enjoy the way the design process is led by what you have, often easier than starting from a blank page I find. This small side table or stool has a top made from walnut and birch ply. The legs were oak off cuts from my time working with the fantastic team and had a really interesting texture from the CNC machine which I really wanted to use.
