Captain Will Maclachlan presides over Bunker Film Club screening of Threads. Thank you to our special guests who took the grueling journey into nuclear oblivion with us and participated in simulating discussion afterwards, including the crucial question: Is Threads the most terrifying film we've ever seen? The answer... a very probable yes. What sets it apart from other psychologically horrifying films (like those by Lars von Trier and Gaspar Noé) is its brutal realism. If you are interested to watch Threads, here is a good free link... https://vimeo.com/305272247
Also watch this brilliant short film for Save the Children (inspired by Threads) by acclaimed local film-maker https://youtu.be/RBQ-IoHfimQ
And stay tuned for future—and lighter—Bunker screenings. 🎥

The first Bunker film screening is here and it really is the perfect choice for a subterranean wartime hideout... THREADS.
Considered by us to be one of the most terrifying films ever made, 1984 film Threads prophesies—in chilling detail—the fallout of a nuclear bomb falling on Sheffield. We're celebrating its 40th anniversary with a series of exclusive Bunker screenings starting Sun 29th Sep (8pm).
And because seating is limited to 8 people... IT'S COMPETITION TIME! To win tickets, simply:
• Create a short video on Instagram of your first moments after the bomb hits.
• Or take a picture and post on Instagram of your distress message after the nuclear strike.
• Tag in your post.
Deadline is 5pm, Fri 20th Sep, so we can pick the best entries and maybe get a mention on the BBC Radio 4 program featuring a Threads documentary (Sat 21st Sep, 8pm). Listen here... https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00236xg
We look forward to seeing you Threads fans getting creative and joining us for some apocalyptic Bunker sessions!

Setting a local record trying on every hat in under 5 seconds in one of our favourite Margate shops . Always find a hidden gem amongst the fascinating vintage trinkets and what-nots and thingamabobs. Incredible that we caught a shoplifter on camera while filming!
