In the Workshop | From simple to statement

A little look behind the scenes at the transformation of my first decorative wooden bowl.

From sanding back the original finish to carefully masking out the geometric design, hand-painting the deep green and adding those finishing touches of gold.

It's lovely to see how a simple wooden bowl can become something completely different with a little imagination and a lot of patience!

I wanted to create something that felt elegant, timeless and full of character, while still celebrating the beauty of the original vintage cabinet.

Something a little different from the workshopā€¦ šŸ’š

I've been experimenting with bringing my love of Art Deco design to something smaller than my usual furniture transformations.

This natural acacia wooden bowl has been individually hand-painted in deep green with geometric detailing, allowing the beautiful wood grain to remain part of the design.

I couldn't resist photographing it alongside my recently redesigned cocktail cabinet ā€” the colours and geometric lines complement each other so nicely.

I've really enjoyed creating this piece, and it's given me a few ideas for what I might try next.

Meet Renata āœØ
Some pieces deserve a second transformation.

I first transformed this vintage cocktail cabinet back in 2022, at a time when I was still experimenting with different colours, techniques and designs and gradually discovering what I wanted Classic Lines Designs to become.

Four years later, my work ā€” and my style ā€” has evolved considerably, and I kept looking at this piece knowing I could take her somewhere completely different.
So the teal has gone. The beautiful walnut has stayed.

This time I've allowed that incredible grain to take centre stage, pairing it with deep Manor Green and much finer Art Deco gold detailing.

There could only be one name for herā€¦Renata ā€” meaning ā€œrebornā€.

After all that measuring and masking, the Art Deco design finally starts to appear.
Still a little finishing and perfecting to do, but I couldn't resist sharing this bit. šŸ˜

Iā€™ve been experimenting with something a little differentā€¦

Most of you know Classic Lines Designs for my statement furniture, but Iā€™ve been wondering whether the same look could work on smaller pieces for the home too.

So this was my first little experiment ā€” an acacia wood tray with a black finish and one of my signature gold geometric designs.

I love the idea of creating smaller, affordable pieces that still have that recognisable Classic Lines feel ā€” natural wood, darker colours and a touch of gold.

But before I get carried away. Iā€™d love to know what you think.

Time for the lush Manor Green šŸ’š

The transformation of my 2022 cocktail cabinet is officially underway.
After stripping back the original design and restoring as much of that beautiful walnut as possible, itā€™s finally time for the colour change.

Goodbye tealā€¦ hello Manor Green. šŸ’š

Iā€™ve got the new Art Deco design planned, but Iā€™m keeping that part under wraps for a little longer.
