A new home found

I’m delighted to say that this beautiful oak cocktail cabinet has now found its new home.

One of my favourite things about working with vintage furniture is taking a piece with character and history and giving it a completely new identity.

This cabinet was carefully restored before being transformed with a striking Art Deco-inspired design, combining the warmth of the original oak wood with deep blue and elegant bronze detailing.

It didn't always look like this...

When I found this vintage oak cocktail cabinet, I could immediately see the potential hiding underneath its rather unassuming exterior.

The original oak was carefully stripped and restored, before I introduced deep navy blue and hand-painted bronze detailing to create its new Art Deco-inspired design.

And then there's the inside...

Lift the top and you'll find the original mirrored cocktail bar, now illuminated and ready for cocktail hour.

I love transformations like this — keeping the character and craftsmanship of a vintage piece, while completely reimagining it for a modern home.

From a rather unassuming vintage oak cabinet to a glamorous Art Deco-inspired home bar.

Meet The Astoria.

I wanted to create a design that celebrated the warmth and character of the original oak rather than hiding it. The wood has been carefully restored and combined with rich dark blue and hand-painted bronze geometric detailing to create a striking, architectural Art Deco design.

Lift the top and an illuminated mirrored cocktail bar is revealed, complete with its original vintage details and pull-out serving area. Below, generous storage for bottles and glassware has been given its own Art Deco transformation.

It's taken many hours of stripping, sanding, repairing, measuring, masking, painting and finishing to bring this piece back to life — but I couldn't be happier with the result.

A little piece of vintage glamour, reimagined for a modern home. 🥂
