Dear Customer,

We are writing to inform you of an important change at LM Transport Scotland Ltd.

This is something we have tried to avoid for as long as possible. However, due to the continued cost of fuel and the impact this is having on the day-to-day running costs of our fleet, we have reached the point where we need to introduce a fuel surcharge.

From 1st October 2026, a 13% fuel surcharge will be applied to all transport work carried out by LM Transport Scotland Ltd.

We haven’t taken this decision lightly. Wherever possible, we have continued to absorb increases ourselves and have worked hard to keep our rates competitive and consistent for our customers.

Unfortunately, with fuel representing such a significant part of our operating costs, it is no longer sustainable for the business to continue absorbing these costs in full.

Rather than simply increasing our transport rates without explanation, we want to be open and transparent with our customers about why this additional charge is necessary.

We genuinely appreciate the continued business, loyalty and support we receive from our customers. We value the working relationships we have built and hope you understand the reasons behind this decision.

The 13% fuel surcharge will be kept under regular review, particularly as fuel prices and operating costs change.
