In just over a week’s time, it’ll be Living Wage Week, celebrating 25 years of the real Living Wage movement.

The reason for paying a real Living Wage goes beyond the workshop.

It’s about everyday life. Food on the table, bills paid and time with our families. The work we do should help support the lives we’re working for.

As an accredited Living Wage Employer, we’re one of nearly 17,000 employers backing a movement that has secured nearly £5bn in extra wages for workers over the past 25 years.

A P R O U D M O M E N T

In just over a week’s time, it’ll be Living Wage Week, celebrating 25 years of the real Living Wage movement.

A fitting time to look back to the 2022 Living Wage Champion Awards.

Alongside Andy Burnham, now Prime Minister and then Mayor of Greater Manchester, we were collecting our own Employees’ Choice award in front of a packed room of industry leaders and public sector supporters of the real Living Wage.

Being recognised through the voices of our own team made this particularly special.

Greater Manchester has played a vital role in the movement, with more than 850 accredited Living Wage Employers helping secure pay rises for over 26,000 workers.

Here in the North East, we’re proud to play our own part by backing our staff and supporting the families behind our business.

A lot of you will already know Nick from his winning enthusiasm on our installations, but back in the workshop he’s also making great progress in his career, producing some amazing furniture with real passion, pride and attention to detail.

All whilst having plenty of fun along the way!

Another great character who brings so much to the workshop and an absolute credit to the team.

Recently finished alcove cabinets in the heart of Gosforth for some lovely regulars.

Simple painted cabinetry with open shelving and warm lighting, sitting comfortably alongside the original fireplace. Already filled with family favourites and a few Halloween additions.

Always a compliment to be invited back.

Another little snapshot from our recently completed kitchen in the heart of Tynemouth.

A bespoke larder cabinet with bifold doors, opening up to reveal oak shelving, integrated lighting and a dedicated space for making coffee.

The doors fold neatly out of the way, leaving plenty of room to work before everything can be tucked away again.

Practical storage, carefully made.

Bringing together beautiful materials, finishes and hardware is always an exciting part of the process, as the finer details of a new project begin to take shape.

Such a nice way to end the week, working alongside brilliant clients, suppliers and teammates who all play their part in bringing these projects together.
