The Flow chair is the first of my project that I didn't make just myself π
Part of my growth plan is to have my orders made for me while I keep creating new and more ambitious pieces β¨
I share the workshop with a lovely family joinery business, and Paul has started helping with orders when I need - and helped me make this very complicated chair π And now we're on to developing the next big project -one that I've wanted help to make for about 10 years!
Paul from and upholstery Amy .and.velvet were invaluable helping me bring my chair to life, it would have been very hard on my own! I'm learning that I don't actually have to struggle to do everything myself π
π
I'm excited to get on with the next projects now - and I can't decide which one so will work on a few at the same time π They're good ones! πΏπ³π

Check out my new Flow Lounge Chair! π
The tactile carved wood of the sculptural leg-arms resemble the flowing forms found in nature and at the same time ergonomically echo our forearms to balance form and function with nature and cosiness.
The hand made lounge chair is carefully constructed with solid ash throughout and traditional upholstery methods using springs and wadding, blended with modern environmentally friendly materials like coconut fibre, recycled foam and organic wool, to ensure a sustainable and comfortable showpiece that will last generations.

I recently did an insta-takeover for
The Makers Directory and realised I have never introduced myself here so... Hi I'm Liv!
I design and make nature inspired furniture and homeware. I have a range of unique pieces that I make to order in a lovely Sussex countryside workshop, with my trusty sidekick Lola.
I love being creative and making things, I have done since I was tiny. I've worked for a few great design studios but I started my own business so I could do what I want and when- I don't like doing what I'm told!
I love woodwork but my favourite part of what I do is creating new designs, so I'm slowly growing to be able to do more of that.
Here's some pictures to get to know me and my work :)
1- Me at the workshop, making a little table -with some straight lines which is rare!
2- My fav piece at the moment (and newest) the Low Tide coffee table. Made from layers of ash resembling calm waves coming in onto the shore.
3- Clamping up a Flow shelf unit.
4- Me and Lola. My best buddy and workshop dog.
5- Flow Lamp family - these floor lamps are my best seller, they're made from one wide piece of solid oak that I hand pick from my fav timber yard English Woodlands Timber The Timber Rack
6- Details of a few pieces showing how the flowing curves compliment the natural wood
7- Wavy Moon shelf unit. With nature as inspiration my pieces can resemble many things found in the natural world... Clouds, waves, creatures, planets, branches...
8- Some smaller pieces; Circle cheese board, Droplet olive bowl, Stripe table lamp, Flat bud vases.
9- my biggest piece, the Ravella cabinet in the Droplet collection. Featuring cupboards and drawers, storage and display, or for drinks and glasses.
10- Me in the middle of turning on the lathe. I'm often covered in sawdust or chippings π

This week I'll be at London Design Fair! It would be lovely to see some familiar faces if you can make it to Shoreditch to see me and my pieces - Thursday - Sunday (public at the weekend, trade weekdays).
Set up tomorrow and I'm nervous! I've been working towards this show since I visited annually at uni, wishing for my own stand.
I was meant to do it in 2020 but covid struck, but I have worked hard and am more ready for the big show now, and am proud of all the pieces I have created.
The chair is finished and will be at the show! Along with the new Low Tide table, a few other new things and the originals.
I'm excited to show everything and see the rest of the show after its break!
Let me know if you can come as I have a few free and discounted tickets :)

Picked up an award for the table last night! π
Inspired by the gentle fluid curves of ocean waves peacefully sweeping onto the shore at low tide.
