Oxford High Street in 1885 compared to how it looks today.
German bombers avoided Oxford in WW2 as it's thought that Hi**er chose the city to be his capital once he had conquered Britain. Therefore, many historic buildings still remain today.

The Old Curiosity Shop, built in 1567 and one of London’s oldest shops, pictured then and now.
Constructed from salvaged ship wood, this Grade 2 listed gem survived the Great Fire of London in 1666 and the Blitz. Charles Dickens' novel 'Old Curiosity Shop' is said to have been inspired by it.

Bridge House had doors opening onto each bank so people could pass directly through the house and cross over the beck below.
