Just a sneaky look at a sentimental chair we are finishing. I'm loving the dark wood with the velvet it really works well together.

A little food for thought on a Friday tea time but you might need w**e 😂....

I get a lot of cheap dining chairs that I quote for, they can even be sold to us from a fancy shop but they are likely to be imported. Meaning a chunk of that hard earned money of yours goes abroad.

Given the state of our economy we can't always afford to recover and cheap new chairs seem appealing. A hit of adrenaline buying them and it's affordable. We used to buy better furniture made here, save up and do things properly.

It's important to put money back into our country it's families. We need to change our habits.

Buy new v Reupholster...

Thin faux leather/ high quality vinyl
Thin cheap foam/ quality dense foam
Machine made/ hand machined by a Brit
Cheap initial cost/ expensive
Short life and landfill/ long life
Completely imported/few products imported
Buy again/keep for three times as long or more!
Most of your money abroad/ most money to Brits

It's too easy to look the other way but all our decisions have consequences. I'm not saying we are perfect because we import lots of essentials but we should try and do better.

Two sofas and lots of fabrics bringing curtains and a love of colour together.

Just a proper look at the high-street sofa we completely transformed. With the frame plumped, all new interiors from better quality seat foams newly configured to extra plump fibre feather back cushions. Jewel coloured hard-wearing upholstery fabrics make it completely unique.

Talk about bespoke and sustainable. Yes it cost a lot more than a high-street low price point, poor quality, sofa but it's been re-upholstered to last.

The better the second hand sofa the longer your investment will last with a full recover and new interiors. As long as the frame is sturdy and it fits your space it's very much worth it down the line.

You only need to look at the barely used modern sofas on FB marketplace to know that you need to shop carefully to buy comfort and durability. If it's a cheap price it's a cheap sofa. Let's shop carefully and less frequently it's better for landfill and it's better for your purse.
