Hall and stairs all freshly painted and decorated - it’s amazing what a difference a clean, bright finish makes to the heart of a home.

These areas can take a bit of wear and tear, so a refresh now and then really helps keep things looking their best.

Outside security lights are a simple way to give you peace of mind, especially as the darker nights arrive. They make it easier to see your way and deter any unwanted visitors.

Even though we’re still enjoying the last of summer (well sort of), it’s a smart time to start preparing for the colder months.

Loft insulation and boarding not only help keep the heat in (saving money on energy bills), but also give you some extra storage space. This recent job means the client now has a warmer, more efficient home and plenty of room to tuck things away.

A bit of preparation now makes all the difference later.

A shelf that needs putting up, a door handle that's loose, a dripping tap, a blind still waiting to be fitted…

Individually, they're only small jobs, but together they can become a list you never quite get around to finishing.

This garage needed a bit of attention. The door was repaired and new soffits added to make everything good again.

Now it’s looking tidy, secure, and better protected against the weather. Sometimes it’s about those finishing touches that keep things working well and looking right.

We're still enjoying summer, but it won't be long before the wetter, colder weather starts creeping back in.

Now is a good time to start thinking about those outside maintenance jobs – checking gutters, repairing fences, looking at window seals, fixing sheds and sorting any small exterior repairs before autumn arrives.

A little preventative maintenance now can help avoid a much bigger job later.

Mist Coating New Plaster – Don’t Skip This Step!

Fresh plaster looking lovely and smooth? Don't be tempted to go straight in with your final paint colour.

A mist coat is an important first step when decorating newly plastered walls. New plaster is very absorbent, so a diluted first coat helps seal the surface and gives your next coats something to properly adhere to.

Skip it and you could end up with paint peeling or flaking later – which means more work to put it right.

It might not be the most exciting part of decorating, but getting the preparation right makes all the difference to the finished result.
