The Hawthorne’s high, gently flared back supports you from shoulder to head, with six buttons set into it and arms that curl out to meet your hands. Here it’s covered in Seaglass Weave, a loose, heavily textured cloth of linen, cotton and polyester in the soft green of sea glass. The buttons and piping are a deeper Slate Tide. This Wolseley was built in our Long Eaton workshop during studio development, to test the proportions of that rising top line and the depth of the seat before the design was settled. It has been kept in our archive ever since. It is now offered for the first time, in Madox Nougat, a soft, nubby crosswoven cloth the colour of warm oatmeal. One piece.
