🐾 Join us for Animal Club at Made-Well! 🐴

Animal Club goes ahead whatever the weather, with our indoor animal barn to keep us sheltered. Come and meet our ponies, llamas, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and tortoise. A pony walk is included when the weather allows!

📅 Saturdays, 1pm–2pm
💷 £5 per person
👟 Please wear sensible clothing and footwear.

There’s plenty more to enjoy while you’re here, too: explore our gardens and play parks, and pop into our café, which is open on Saturdays until the end of October.

Animal Club isn’t currently bookable online, so just pay when you arrive. We’d love to see you! 💚

🌼 Parent & Carer Support Group 🌼

Today, our parents and carers got creative and made these beautiful floral pumpkins. It was lovely to share some time together, enjoy a mindful activity and make something just for ourselves. 🎃🌸

With World Mental Health Day on Saturday, 10 October, it’s a good reminder that parent carers need time to look after their own wellbeing too. Sometimes, taking a little time to slow down and enjoy something creative can make a real difference. 💚

Come and join us at The Pebble every Thursday, 1–3 pm. Bring along your own creative ideas or skills to share—or just come for a chat and a cuppa.

🌊 A day at the beach!

We recently enjoyed a trip to the beach and hired a beach wheelchair so Josh could enjoy the experience too.

At Made-Well, we’re passionate about creating accessible opportunities and offering a wide range of experiences for the people we support, both on site and out in the community.

You’ll receive a warm welcome and have opportunities to make friends, socialise, learn new skills, achieve goals and support your wellbeing.

🌿 Teen Home Education Social Group – This Week 🌿

Our Teen Home Ed Social Group runs every Tuesday from 10am–2pm. 💚

It’s a flexible drop-in session, so young people don’t need to stay for the full four hours — they can come along for as much of the session as suits them. 😊 If we have a planned trip or off-site activity, we may need everyone to attend for the full session and we’ll let families know in advance.

🌳 This week we’ll be:
✨ Exploring our new piece of woodland
🌲 Looking at ideas for how we could develop the space for outdoor learning, forest school activities and future projects
🗑️ Taking part in a local litter pick
👫 Spending time together, socialising and having fun

It’s all about giving home-educated teens a relaxed space to meet others, build confidence, learn practical skills and get involved in a variety of activities.

🌟 Welcome to the Made-Well family, Elijah! 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome Elijah, one of our new Alternative Provision learners, to Made-Well. 💚

He’s already been getting stuck into life here, spending time in our woodwork workshop learning practical skills and having a go at drilling, sawing and building. 🔨🪚

Our Alternative Provision (AP) offers children and young people a different way to engage with education. Through practical, hands on and individualised learning, we help young people build confidence, develop skills, work towards their own goals and reconnect positively with learning.

With opportunities including woodwork, animal care, horticulture, crafts, cooking and much more, we can build a programme around the interests, strengths and needs of each learner.

Our Alternative Provision is led by Kirstine, who works with young people, families and schools to help find the right pathway.

🦕 Look what’s been taking shape in our woodwork workshop! 🪚🔨

How fantastic is this handmade wooden Stegosaurus? From individual pieces of timber to this amazing creation, there’s been plenty of skill, patience and hard work involved.

Our woodwork workshop is just one of the many opportunities available at Made-Well, giving the people we support the chance to get hands on, develop practical skills, build confidence and enjoy creating something they can be proud of. 💚

Ann has made this beautiful cushion by hand, complete with a gorgeous hand-painted cow and colourful patchwork edging – and what a wonderful, unique gift it makes! 💚

We love seeing the creativity, skills and talents of the people we support at Made-Well. From sewing and painting to crafts and so much more, there are lots of opportunities to learn new skills, get creative and make something to be proud of.

🌈 Thursdays at The SEN Hub at Made-Well 🌈

Looking for a welcoming, understanding space for your little one — or somewhere to meet other parents and carers who just get it? 💚

Every Thursday at The Pebble, Made-Well, we have two groups designed to support children and their families.

🧸 The SENsory Nest Playgroup
⏰ 10:30am–12:30pm
👶 Ages 0–5
💷 £5 per child – refreshments for child and parent included
✨ Sensory and inclusive play, opportunities to explore, have fun and make connections.
No diagnosis required.

Then in the afternoon:
☕ Parent & Carer Support Group
⏰ 1pm–3pm
💚 FREE drop-in

A friendly and supportive space to meet other parents and carers, share experiences and access advice and signposting around topics including SEN, carers assessments, financial support, communication, homeschooling and more.

Both groups are facilitated by Emma Martin, who brings many years of experience supporting children and families with SEN.

We’re looking for someone creative, organised and confident in marketing and communications who can help us share our stories, reach new audiences and showcase the difference Made-Well makes.
