DRIVER STOPPED IN PAGE HALL AFTER TRANSPORTING SOFA UNSAFELY

Police officers in Sheffield came across this rather unusual sight while on patrol in the Page Hall area — a driver attempting to transport a large sofa sticking out of the back of their car.

Officers say the sofa wasn’t secured in any way and could easily have fallen into the road, posing a serious risk to other drivers and pedestrians.

When asked to pull over, the driver initially appeared to comply but then continued driving. They were later stopped and issued with a traffic offence report, along with advice to leave sofa deliveries to the professionals next time.

Sometimes it’s best to pay for delivery — it’s safer for everyone!
