We Provide the Largest Selection of top Quality Restored Furniture in the North of England. Thus spawned The Restored Furniture Place.

We started off as The Furniture House 13 years ago and sold new furniture in ranges like any other furniture shop. As the years progressed, we started to notice the quality dropping but the price rising. So, with having vast experience in French polishing and restoration we decided to start buying used, damaged furniture and restoring them to new again and we noticed the restored was outselling the new. So, with that in mind we took the decision to stop selling new and sell just restored. We have been doing just restored for just over 4 years now and not looked back. Now with vast networks sourcing our furniture from all over the country, the shops price for quality is unrivalled. The outbreak of COVID-19 and its lockdowns meant we had time to take photos of our furniture and start using social media more and in turn we created our Facebook shop. This opened a new avenue for us but we soon realised our name and branding should reflect what we do. We have over 30 years' experience in furniture restoration and with that we know it takes just as long to restore low quality furniture as it does to restore high quality furniture. When you buy from us not only are you helping save the planet by buying restored, you are also getting a better-quality piece for less money than if you were to buy new.

From tired orange oak to a beautiful warm finish 🤩

This stunning French distressed solid oak sideboard came to us with a damaged, heavily orange finish that was really dating the piece.

Rather than covering it up, the old finish was carefully removed by hand, taking the oak back before we refinished it with a lighter, warmer wax.

The result has completely transformed it. 😍 The new finish gives it a much more natural, modern appearance while still keeping all the knots, marks and character of the original distressed oak.

Before and After ✨

This beautifully restored, hand-distressed solid oak settle is a stunning example of traditional craftsmanship and timeless design. Featuring a comfortable seat with a generous storage box beneath, it offers both practicality and classic charm.

Crafted by a renowned French furniture maker celebrated for producing some of the finest oak furniture, this settle features the company’s signature hand-distressed finish. Details such as simulated woodworm, scratches, marks and dents give each piece a unique character and authentic aged appearance.

As part of our restoration, we completely stripped away the original dark finish before refinishing the settle with a Light Briwax. This enhances the natural beauty of the oak and creates the lightest finish possible, giving the piece a fresh, modern look while preserving its traditional character.

Before & After ✨

This beautiful oak bedding box is a classic piece from the iconic Old Charm range, manufactured by Wood Bros, one of Britain’s most respected furniture makers.

As you can see, it arrived with a dark, worn finish after years of use. We completely stripped back the old finish before applying a beautiful light wax, transforming it into a brighter, more contemporary piece while preserving all of its original character and craftsmanship.

A timeless piece, restored and ready for many more years of use.

New in this week! 🥳

This beautifully restored, French solid oak dresser is a practical and attractive piece, featuring two drawers and four lockable cupboards, two of which have glazed doors for displaying your favourite items.

Furniture of this quality is rarely produced today, and pieces of comparable standard command a significant price when found. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a truly special and characterful piece of furniture.
