👀🔧 Tins has been at it again…

Introducing the next new addition for VW T25s & LTs — the Tins swing-out rear bumper system! 🚐💪

Designed to give you that all-important extra space without drilling extra holes into your van. 👌

The system is bumper/tow-bar mounted, making installation simple and keeping the bodywork untouched.

And this is where it gets interesting… 😏

Depending on how you use your van, the swing-out can be adapted to suit YOU:

🛞 Spare wheel carrier
📦 Extra storage box
🍻 Drop-down table
☕ Pop-up table
🏕️ Additional camping/storage options
🔧 Or a combination designed around your individual setup

Because let’s face it… there’s no such thing as too much storage in a camper! 😂

This is still developing, and we’ve got plenty more ideas up our sleeves…

👀 WATCH THIS SPACE!

CLASSIC CAR RESTORER / FABRICATOR WANTED 🔧

Tins Restorations & Kustoms – Saltash, Cornwall (just outside Plymouth)

We’re looking for a competent, hands-on person to join us working on classic car restorations and custom builds.

You need to be able to MIG weld and fabricate to a good standard, including cutting out corrosion, making and fitting repair sections, and carrying out general restoration work.

We’re not looking for someone who knows absolutely everything – but you do need to be practical, reliable, able to use your initiative and capable of getting on with a job without constant supervision.

Mechanical knowledge and previous classic car, restoration or fabrication experience would be a big advantage.

💰 Starting from £125 per day – rate dependent on experience and skill level
📅 4 days per week
📍 Saltash, Cornwall – just outside Plymouth
📈 Potential for the rate and role to develop for the right person

We’re a small specialist workshop, so finding the right person who fits in with the team and takes genuine pride in their work is important to us.

If this sounds like you – or you know someone who might be interested – send us a message and have a chat.

Photos or examples of previous welding, fabrication or restoration work would be great to see.

🔧🚐 The transplant continues… and we’ve got progress! 💪

Engine and gearbox — IN! ✅
Power steering — swapped over! ✅

Safe to say things move a little quicker when you’ve got a few extra pairs of hands around the workshop! 😂

Many hands make light work… especially when your mates are good enough to give up their time, get stuck in and lend a hand. 🙌🔧

Plenty of graft, plenty of laughs and probably plenty of “while we’re here, we might as well…” 🤦‍♂️😂

Another big step closer to getting this T25 back where it belongs — on the road! 🚐💨

Big thanks to the lads for mucking in! 👊

🚐🫀 DONOR VAN… your sacrifice will not be forgotten! 😂🔧

It might be the end of the road for this T25, but Tins isn’t letting the good bits go to waste!

Today’s operation involved removing a few vital organs… 👨‍⚕️🔧

🫀 Engine
⚙️ Gearbox
💪 Power steering
✨ Stainless steel coolant pipes
❄️ Radiator
⛽ Fuel tank

All carefully harvested and getting ready for their next life in another van! 🚐🙌

No donor card required… just Tins, a workshop and a worrying enthusiasm for dismantling T25s. 😂

Soon it’ll be time for the transplant and another T25 will live on! ❤️

🚐🔧 IMPORTANT – NEW VEHICLE STORAGE POLICY

As Tins Restoration & Kustoms gets busier, workshop and vehicle storage space is becoming increasingly valuable.

We completely understand that owning and restoring older vehicles sometimes means waiting for hard-to-find parts. However, we can no longer accommodate vehicles for extended periods without a storage charge, particularly when this prevents us from bringing other customers’ vehicles into the workshop.

From 1st September, the following policy will apply:

🔧 COMPLETED VEHICLES
Once you have been notified that your vehicle is finished and ready for collection, we ask that it is collected within 3 calendar days.

After this period, storage will be charged at £25 per day.

🔩 VEHICLES WAITING FOR CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS
If work cannot continue because we are waiting for parts that the customer is sourcing or supplying, we will allow a 14-day grace period.

After 14 days, a storage charge of £15 per day will apply until the required parts arrive and work can resume.

We know that parts for T25s and other classics aren’t always sitting on a shelf waiting to be bought! If there are exceptional circumstances, please speak to us. Any alternative storage arrangements must be agreed with Tins in advance.

This isn’t about making money from storage — it’s about keeping enough space available to keep the workshop moving and everyone’s projects progressing. ❤️🚐

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

🤠🔧 Cut it out. Weld it up. Make it better.

Another T25 getting some much-needed attention at Tins Restoration & Kustoms.

First up — inner and outer sill repairs, cutting out the old and getting some good metal back where it belongs. 🔥

Then for a little bit of Tins magic… 🪄

An existing hole left from an old heater? Most would just blank it off.

Tins saw storage. 😏

A bit of fabrication later and that wasted space is being transformed into some handy underslung storage beneath the van.

Because sometimes the best custom touches aren’t the ones you immediately see… they’re the ones that make you wonder why VW didn’t do it in the first place. 👌🚐

Another busy day in the workshop at Tins Restoration & Kustoms! 🚐

No two days are ever the same, and today’s video gives you a glimpse of what’s been keeping Tins busy…

⚙️ Metal fabrication in full swing
✨ Fabricating stainless steel coolant pipes for a Subaru EZ30 conversion
🚗 A very cool bubble car in the workshop!
💺 Front bench seats prepped and ready for powder coating
💥 An EJ20 finding its new home in a VW T25 Syncro

Whether it’s fabrication, restoration, engine conversions or custom projects, every job gets the same attention to detail.

Which project are you most looking forward to seeing finished? 👇

29/07/2026

Today’s mission: T25 sill replacement! 🚐

Tins has been hard at work replacing the inner and outer sills on this VW T25.

As with many classic VWs, it’s never just a straightforward panel swap. There’s been plenty of small metal fabrication along the way to make sure everything fits properly and is repaired to a high standard.

It’s the extra work you don’t always see that makes all the difference—taking the time to get it right, not just get it done. 💪

Stay tuned to see this one coming back to life!
