Outdoor furniture tends to get used more in summer when you are spending the longer evenings outside. The Kartell Hiray Sofa keeps things simple, with a lightweight metal frame and optional cushions for comfort. It doesn’t try to be too decorative, which actually helps it sit quite easily in different garden settings. It’s the kind of piece that works better the more you use it. https://scossa.co.uk/products/kartell-hiray-outdoor-sofa

If you’re doing a bedroom renovation this summer, wardrobes tend to become one of the bigger decisions quite quickly. The Pianca Murano Wardrobe System is often used in that stage because it does more than just store clothes. Depending on the finish, it can feel quite architectural, almost like part of the room itself. It also works as a divider if you’re creating a dressing area, which is something people often start thinking about once the layout of the room is being reworked. https://scossa.co.uk/products/pianca-murano-wardrobes

Outdoor seating feels more relevant in summer when you are actually using your garden rather than just looking at it. The Cane-line Sticks Armchair Set works well in that kind of setting because it’s designed around comfort but still feels light and natural. The structure is inspired by sticks, which gives it a softer look than most outdoor dining chairs. The QuickDry cushions are also useful this time of year when weather can change quickly. https://scossa.co.uk/products/cane-line-sticks-armchair-set-of-2-dining

Are you doing a kitchen renovation this summer? It’s usually around this time people start getting more serious about lighting, especially over islands. The Tom Dixon Melt Mini Pendant LED is one of those pieces that tends to come into the conversation quite late, even though it probably shouldn’t. During the day it reflects the room around it, and in the evening it softens into a warm glow. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens where the island is the main focal point. https://scossa.co.uk/products/melt-mini-pendant-led

Some lounge chairs are designed to blend in quietly. The Kartell Cara Chair by Philippe Starck and Sergio Schito does the opposite. It has that low, relaxed shape you instantly want to sink into, but the oversized cushion gives it a softness that stops it feeling too formal or “designer”. What makes it work so well is how adaptable it is - it feels just as natural in a living room as it does in a conservatory or even on a balcony. Available in four bold colours, it’s one of those pieces that can completely shift the mood of a corner without taking over the whole room.
