🪵NOT ALL TIMBER IS CREATED EQUAL. HERE'S WHY YOUR CHOICE MATTERS! 👀

Choosing timber isn't just about picking a length & getting started. The right material can make a real difference to the finish, stability & performance of your project.

At Flixton Sawmill, we believe in helping you choose timber that suits the job-not just selling you a piece of wood.

🌲Building a shed? Our slow-grown Swedish Redwood is valued for its quality finish & stability.

🌧️Working outdoors? Consider where the timber will be used and choose a suitable treatment & specification.

🔨Making something bespoke? Think about the dimensions, strength & finish you need before you buy.

And if you're not sure? That's exactly what we're here for.
We've been supplying timber & building materials since 1986 & our team is always happy to talk through your project & help you make an informed choice.

What are you planning next-a shed, garden structure, planter or something completely different?

🪵🔨THE FLIXTON FIX: IS YOUR FENCE READY FOR WINTER? 🌧️

Before the autumn storms roll in, now's the time to give your garden fence a little attention! A few simple checks now could help you spot problems before they become bigger jobs.

1. Check your fence posts. Are they loose, leaning or showing signs of rot at ground level?

2. Inspect your panels. Look for broken boards, damaged rails & loose fittings that may need attention.

3. Check your fixings. Loose screws, brackets & clips can compromise the stability of your fence.

THE FLIXTON TIP:
Don't wait until a fence panel ends up in next door's garden! 😂
A quick inspection now can help you identify repairs before the worst weather arrives.

Need replacement panels, posts, timber or fixings? Or not sure what your fence needs?

Come & have a chat with our team at Flixton Sawmill. Bring a photo or your measurements & we'll help you work out what materials may be suitable for the job.
