Once a piece is stripped back, we can see what’s really going on underneath — the frame, springs, webbing, padding and support that all contribute to how the finished furniture looks and feels.

It’s also the opportunity to identify anything worn, loose or damaged and deal with it before the new upholstery goes on.

Good preparation might be hidden when the job is finished, but it makes a huge difference to the shape, comfort and longevity of the furniture.
