Viva Arts and Community Group Viva focuses on cultural outreach, award-winning theatre, arts engagement and heritage projects. Viva works very hard to generate its own income.

In 2008 it purchased premises, The Viva Charity shop, 7 CHURCHGATE STREET, Soham. The charity shop sells clothes, toys, household goods and furniture which provides some core funds for the youth theatre. However, the organisation costs much more to run, so we work hard to fundraise too. Viva Arts and Community Group began life as a small youth theatre run by a team of volunteers. Now Viva Youth Theatre stages a least two major productions a year playing to audiences of up to 1000, and for the past seven years Viva Touring has taken shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The awards keep coming, the latest being the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – The MBE for Voluntary Groups. An adult theatre group (Viva Theatre Company) was established in 2007 – also an award winner and today it has 30 members who perform at least two productions a year.

Two of our fabulously courageous Viva members are embarking on a very brave journey next year and are needing soinsorship. Here are a few words from Keith Gallois .

If anyone is in a position to sponsor / donate, please use the link or contact Keith. ❤️

“Good Morning,

As part of the fundraising to help buy vehicles for our humanitarian aid convoy to Ukraine in February we are looking to find commercial/private sponsorship for the vehicles.

From Ely, we will be driving three 4 x 4 vehicles as part of a larger convoy. We have lots of spaces on the outside of the vehicles on which we can add advertising/sponsorship or goodwill messages. Would you be interested in you or your company name being on the vehicles?

We shall drive across Europe in February, crossing the border from Poland, and then onwards to Lviv in Ukraine. Once in Lviv we will hand over the vehicles to Ukrainian partners, together with the aid ( e.g. generators and medicine). The Ukrainian team will then drive these to the front lines for use in civilian rescue. We will then travel back by bus to Poland and then home.

Our thoughts on sponsorship are that we could put your business ( or personal name) on to the vehicle. Once in Lviv, a second, fresh set will be signed with thanks from the humanitarian team. We will then pass the signed version to you so you can display/frame as you wish. Before and along the way we will be providing daily news updates, along with photos and video of the vehicles. We are open to any other ideas you may have.

Probably more than ever, the population needs all the support we can give. Even in our destination Lviv, which is comparatively safer, drone attacks yesterday destroyed critical city electrical infrastructure. Any support you can forgive will be very gratefully received.

Thank you

Keith, Mary Katherine and Craig Banjo West
