Friends of Southwick Square Garden

30/09/2026

It’s the 1st of October tomorrow - unbelievable! How did that happen? This means that Saturday is volunteer gardening day, from 10 a.m to 12 noon. We are a very small team, and the weather this year has been extremely challenging, especially since there is no available water at Southwick Square Garden. The Garden is therefore looking a little sad, and we could desperately do with some help. Therefore if you have been considering joining us now would be a great time to come along. Please do come along ☺️🪴

The monthly volunteer session will be taking place this Saturday 5 September at 10 a.m. Please do come along and say hello, and if you would like to join us you would be extremely welcome!

Unfortunately a few of our volunteers are unable to attend our usual garden session this week. There are so few of us that if more than one or two are unavailable then we need to reschedule. Therefore the next garden maintenance session will be delayed one week until
SATURDAY 11 JULY 10 a.m to 12 noon.
Apologies for any confusion this may cause.

The Garden is looking good despite the rain (but looking forward to some sunshine next week! ☀️). There is lots of colour to enjoy ☺️

SESSION CANCELLED THIS MORNING

Sadly, we have reluctantly decided that it is just too wet to anything useful this morning, as we risk damaging soil, plants and volunteers by working in the rain. Replacement session will be confirmed as soon as we can.

It’s June!! Summer is here! 🥳 We will be back in Southwick Square Gardens this coming Saturday, 6th June, to continue our efforts to maintain the gardens. We could really do with more help, so if you are free on Saturday morning do please come and join us. No tools or experience required (but welcome if available!). 10a.m - 12 noon.

The next volunteer gardening session is this coming Saturday 2nd May 10a.m to 12 p.m. Please do come and join us, as there is a lot to do and very few regular helpers. Tools and instructions provided if needed, and we are a friendly and welcoming group.
