Soft. Medium. Firm. Three familiar words, but what do they really tell us about how a mattress will feel?

We believe comfort is personal. What feels supportive to one person may feel entirely different to another.

That’s why we take a different approach, scaling our British wool mattresses by their level of support rather than relying on industry labels that can often be misleading.

From No.1, offering our greatest level of support, through to No.5, our most forgiving feel, each mattress is carefully constructed to offer a different sleeping experience.

Because choosing the right mattress isn’t about finding a label that sounds right. It’s about discovering what feels right for you.

A bed frame may be the first thing you notice. But it is only one part of how your bed feels.

The frame, base and mattress each have a different job to do. Choosing them together can make a real difference to support and comfort.

We’ve put together a simple guide to what each part does — and what to consider before choosing yours.

Buying a bed or mattress is a considered decision, so hearing from people who have already been through the process matters.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to leave us a review — we read every one.

A finished bed can hide an awful lot.

Underneath the paint and polished finish are the details that determine how a bed is actually made: substantial iron, solid bars, solid feet and solid joints.

It’s why we think the better question isn’t simply, ‘Is it a metal bed?’

It’s, ‘Is it a handmade iron bed?”

This is one of those details you would never see once the mattress is finished. Yet it says rather a lot about how it is...

This is one of those details you would never see once the mattress is finished. Yet it says rather a lot about how it is made.

British wool is carefully hand-teased, opening the fibres to create natural loft before it is layered around the pocket springs within.

Each element has a purpose. The pocket springs provide considered support, while generous layers of natural wool bring comfort and breathability.

Proper materials, skilled hands and time spent on the details that matter — even when you’ll never see them.

From the coarse warmth of freshly shorn fleece to the softness that develops as the wool is teased by hand.

The gentle resistance as springs are hand-tied. The tension of fabric pulled into place. The feel of natural materials beneath skilled hands.

These are the hands that make our mattresses. Hands that understand the materials through touch, and know when each detail feels just right.

This Wool Month, we’re excited to introduce you to Gordon, one of the farmers we’ve partnered with for over four years.

In this reel, hear directly from Gordon about his journey and the care that goes into raising British sheep and producing high-quality fleece.

This Wool Month, I’d love for you to meet Gordon, a farmer we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside for over four years.

Gordon’s gentle approach to regenerative farming is a story close to our hearts, showing how thoughtful care for the land and his flock can make a real difference.

Together, we’re discovering how farmers who are deeply committed to sustainable practices connect with people who value ethically sourced British wool.

It’s a joy to share these stories and celebrate the small but meaningful steps we can all take towards a kinder, more responsible way of living.

Choosing a mattress is personal. Sometimes the best explanation comes from the people already sleeping on one.

Our mattresses are made to order in Britain using traceable British wool, with the entire making process taking place under one roof — from drawing the spring wire to the final stitch.

October holds a special place in our hearts as we come together to celebrate Wool Month 🐑

We’d love for you to join us in watching our very first television commercial. It offers a heartfelt glimpse into our story and values, and you’ll meet Amanda, our founder, alongside her beloved flock of sheep.

For us, every mattress has its own story, beginning long before it arrives in your home.

We work closely with British sheep farmers, agreeing on a fair price for their wool before the shearing season even begins. This way, we can trace every bundle of wool right back to the farms and the families who care for their flocks.

Follow our socials as we share this journey with you, from the rolling British farms to the final careful stitch by hand.
