What a splendid day we had yesterday at the festivalofupholstery

Had a very long awaited catch up with Mick Sheridan Upholstery thank you for introducing me to so many lovely creative inspiring folk.
I’ve found my people. 🧵🪡

Didn’t take many photos as did lots of chatting.
Wonderful to meet Atelier Ray Clarke (ARC) and the very lovely Leigh-anne Treadwell of Bristol Upholstery Collective (who has the most gorgeous hair)
They are both so hardworking and inspiring people and I’m a little bit in awe of them.

Thank you also to Valerie Hayes upholstery for taking time to chat to me and yes I did get a copy.

Armand Verdier-Fine Upholstery I wanted to chat to but couldn’t get near due to the amount of ladies surrounding him ☺️

Lovely to meet Vanessa Butt, who knew there was another upholsterer originally from deepest Lincolnshire - I don’t feel so alone 😆

The highlight has to be - Mick you are a very funny man and keep doing what you’re doing it’s ACE.

One of the BEST reasons to reupholster is to REPAIR.

An 80 year old gentleman contacted me this week to see if I could repair his canal boat cover. (A new one for me)

It’s a little confusing working out what goes where and getting it on the machine but I’ll get there. ☺️

Plus it’s a tad dirty!🤣🫩

In an era of disposable goods, Sarah’s work serves as a reminder that well-crafted pieces deserve a second life, ensuring every project is both beautiful and built to last.

I fitted these bespoke triple pleated mid blue ticking curtains last week.

The fabric was a delight to work with and such a classic choice for my clients little boys bedroom.

I love the ticking stripe and the fresh green of the room it blends perfectly.
Such a good choice 💙
