Generations of Southwest farmers have shaped this landscape, working alongside it, season after season. That same land grows our wool: temperature regulating, naturally fire retardant, and bought directly from the farm, for a fair price and a fibre that hasn’t travelled halfway around the world to reach your bed.

This wool month, and every other month, we’re grateful for the local farmers who supply our miracle fibre.

For years, we’ve woven our organic cotton and wool mattress ticking at the same Lancashire mill used by Wallace Sewell, the pioneering textile studio behind the moquette seating on the London Underground and long-term collaborators with the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery. Wallace Sewell has spent more than three decades mastering colour and weave. So when the idea of creating a joint throw came up, it wasn’t really a stretch – just two brands with a shared address and a passion for natural fibres putting both to good use. The result is a collection of two throws, Wallace Sewell’s first ever made entirely from British wool.

Today marks the start of Wool Month, a celebration of the fibre at the heart of everything we do.

Wool is our miracle fibre - it makes our beds and mattresses breathable, temperature regulating and naturally fire retardant. It keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter, without any harmful chemicals.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing more about wool: why we love it, where we source it and how we use it. 🐑
